Twotoplace Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 If this story is accurate ... and I believe it is ... then what we're seeing is what happened in Senate races a few years back in Delaware, Missouri, Nevada and Indiana: The far right candidate emerges victorious in a congested primary, only to then lose in the general election because he or she is too extreme or says stupid things ("legitimate rape") in media interviews.

I am still waiting for Trump to go away like ALL the Dems said would happen.
Twotoplace Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I am still waiting for Trump to go away like ALL the Dems said would happen. It's my impression that more Republicans than Democrats are waiting for Trump to vanish.
Jesse James Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Its also my impression that both are going to be disappointed.
ggclfan Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I think Cruz really stepped in it with his New York values comments...interesting to see what happens the next few weeks in the aftermath of them...
ggclfan Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 It's my impression that more Republicans than Democrats are waiting for Trump to vanish. No doubt...establishment R's have gone through a range of emotions regarding Trump...from mild annoyance to ridicule to bewilderment to now anger and fear...he does not seem to be going away and all their money does not seem to make a difference. Establishment R's have miscalculated pretty much everything. The R base showed up in robust numbers to give R's control of both houses in recent years. The reason they did was they were promised the R's would take the fight to Obama if only they had control of Congress. Not that they have it, they have not done as promised so A LOT of R's are REALLY ANGRY and hence...we have Trump... If the R's had done as promised in recent years, people would not be so enamored with Trump IMO.

How well has it worked out for the GOP when moderates like McCain and Romney ran in 2008 and 2012 respectively? People said the same thing about Ronnie a few decades back and he did better than any Repub presidential candidate since him with the Dem vote.
ggclfan Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Wow, my last two posts have gotten "likes" from Hellcats...either he is losing his mind or I am...:lol2:

Mainstream America is fed up.
Hellcats Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Wow, my last two posts have gotten "likes" from Hellcats...either he is losing his mind or I am...:lol2: :bag: My liberal card will be revoked. Nah. I agreed with both. Cruz hurt himself. Establishment Republicans spent a lot of time getting nothing done. They have themselves to thank that Trump may win the primary.
mexitucky Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I am still waiting for Trump to go away like ALL the Dems said would happen. So am I🙋and I am not a Democrat
Clyde Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Somewhere on the BGP servers are many posts by me saying Sen Cruz had no chance. I'm obviously not as sure of that today.

I almost started a topic about this to poke fun. But then I got lazy and didn't feel like looking for your old quotes lol.
