Campbell County had more than double Brossart's pounds of food. Overall more than 7,000 lbs of food was collected.

I've reffed there. You do have to pay attention to the lines.

Called a play OOB that wasn't. On one it wasn't even close.

He called a couple on both teams that looked like they were in bounds but I just figured maybe he saw something that I didn't. But then he called one on campbell where the player was CLEARLY in bounds. Like caught the ball stationary at least a foot away from the out of bounds line. Thats when we all realized he had been calling the volleyball line out of bounds. He realized it too and stopped but still that's just terrible.

For those that have never taken in a Brossart Campbell game.. wow.. I cannot imagine a better atmosphere for a high school boys game than this one.. A very cool experience..

Great game! Someone had to lose, glad the Mustangs prevailed! It came down to free throws and the Mustangs made it interesting by missing multiple chances. Say what you want about the officiating, there were multiple questionable calls for both teams. Hope the Mustangs get a little love from the Nky and 10th region polls.

Actually the official, who is a seasoned veteran of state tournaments and state tournament championship games, got confused on where the out of bounds line was and called a volleyball line out which was about a foot and a half from the actual endzone. He made the mistake twice. The first was on Brossart's Logan Schultz who wasn't close and the second on the Camel player that wasn't close.

 

There was speculation that the second was a make-up call, but I'm not subscribing to that theory. Simply feel he became confused as to which was the true OOB line.

 

One year ago the Mustangs had the shot in the air to win the Crosstown, and it didn't go. Tonight the opposite was true with the Camels coming out on the short end.

 

Great atmosphere, and great competition. I was feeling good about it with the Stangs on top 40-30 at the 5 minute mark of the fourth quarter, when Cole Hegyl put his team on his shoulders and did his best to carry them to victory, scoring 9 points down the stretch.

 

Not our greatest hour, but a win over the Camels in the Crosstown is always special.

 

Jackson Crawford led all scorers with 20 points, while Jacob Zai added 12 for the Mustangs. Cole Hegyl led the Camels with 13, Matt Wilson added 11.

 

The Camels play NCC in the John Turner Classic at Newport tomorrow. The Mustangs have a more simple task with Robertson County in the opening round of the 10th Region "A" Classic at Bracken County High School.

Mustang, tell me again about those FTs down the stretch. Did CC do a lot of selective fouling like HC?

The ref called the white out of bounds and not the purple. I believe the white line in volleyball shows how far they can serve from.
