Green is pretty much unable to be covered if he is near the sideline or if the ball is thrown up high. To your point, he is a big chicken in the middle of the field.

Does anyone follow the spread closely? It looks to me as if more money is going down on the Steelers and giving the points.

Also, I know I said it earlier this year that the Bengals games were must win/playoff type games for the Steelers. This week I believe the game against the Steelers is the Bengals "Super Bowl" this year. If the Bengals beat the Steelers Sunday 2015-16 will be considered a successful season for the Bengals.

I follow the lines very closely, and none of the sites I look at have moved even a half point since they opened. Some opened at Cincy +2.5 and some opened at Cincy +3, and they are all exactly the same today as they were when they cracked the seal on the game.

 

The O/U, however, has come down in nearly every case, either .5 or a full point, depending on the source.

Two of the sites have had money-line movement, but in both cases, it has moved in the direction of money being placed on the Bengals. In both cases they launched at you had to bet $110 on Pittsburgh to win $100, and now both are $100 for $100.

And if he is, so be it. I'm sure there are receivers that are not uncomfortable making the catch over the middle or running a post route without stopping for a cup of coffee first. Use the personnel appropriately. I'm sick of hearing announcers say how "talented" this team is (and then they lay an egg). It isn't even about "trying harder" than the other team. It really comes down to "will" and "belief" and "preparation" to win games like this. Teams like the Patriots and Steelers seem to have the secret while teams like the Bengals seem to consistently come up short. Maybe I should have posted this in the Rant thread.

If the Bengals lose this game, for me it will be the most disappointing playoff loss of all. If you really look at this game, the Bengals are clearly the better team. The Bengals have a complete team with great depth. Their defense is one of the best in the league. They have controlled the Steelers offense both times they have played them this year. Even in the loss to the Steelers, the Bengals had more yards in the game.

 

The Steelers back their way into the playoffs and are on the road at Paul Brown Stadium. With Deangelo Williams hurt, they come into this game basically a one trick pony of Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown, and the Bengals have been able to handle that combo in the previous two games.

 

The Bengals are healthy, except for Dalton, and a lot of fans think they are better off with AJ than Dalton anyway. McCarron lit up the Steelers' horrible defense the first time he faced them with no preparation.

 

This is not a good Steelers team. If the Bengals lose this game, the Steelers will almost surely lose their next game because they just aren't very good. For me, a loss in this one will be the most embarrassing and disappointing of all the Bengals' recent playoff losses.

Disagree that the Steelers are not a good team but they are hard to peg. Are they coming in with the team that lit up the NFL for several weeks or the team that lost to a bad Ravens team and were only up by 5 in the fourth quarter to a bad Austin Davis led Browns team? I like the Bengals chances with Pacman playing on Brown and Williams gimpy. All in all though I would have preferred the Jets.

Steelers o-line the last matchup literally gave ben 3-5 seconds on a CONSISTENT basis. It turned into backyard football enabling steeler receivers to get separation or find a seam in a zone to convert 3rd downs to 1st downs.

 

If the Bengals can account for A. Brown and H. Miller in these situations the majority of the time and blitz effectively we win. If Brown and Miller are able to break through for 20 plus receptions the aluminum curtain wins.

Yes, Ben had time and I chalk a very big part of that up to that being the Bengals game plan. They cared more about keeping him in the pocket than they did about getting to him. That strategy has been successful in their two matchups this year. Do the Bengals change strategy or stick to what has worked?

I agree with basically every thing you said right up until about the last paragraph. I think the Bengals win this game, but if the Steelers were to win, I think they very easily could go into Denver and win the next game. The Steelers offense has basically scored on everyone this year. Its not like the Broncos or Patriots are dominant. The Pats have I believe lost 4 of their last 6 games, including losing to a bad Dolphins team when the number 1 seed was on the line.

 

I said it earlier but I think the winner of the Bengals and Steelers game will go to the Super Bowl from the AFC.
