January 3, 201610 yr ..............and me? Too many shots to the head this year might land him a role in "Any Given Sunday part 2."
January 5, 201610 yr Every QB will have a 2nd QB looking to take his gig. It's part of the QB1 spot. Drew isn't going to worry about other QBs coming in. PT didn't worry about it. No good QB worries about it. I agree somewhat. In PT case you got the head coach talking to the press, team, and fans, saying Barker may be inserted at any time. I would also think it would happen if both the #1 and #2 are somewhat equally talented. The truly great QB's don't worry about #2 taking his place, and their head coach isn't talking about #2 taking their place. Were the QB's playing for Stanford, Ole Miss, Alabama, looking over their shoulders and were the head coaches giving them reason to? No.
January 5, 201610 yr ^ Alabama's QB was certainly looking over his shoulder. He was sharing time the first few games this year.
January 5, 201610 yr Kiel had some good games for UC but took a beating. The guy seems unhappy everywhere he goes. Didn't he commit to several schools before finally enrolling at ND and then the transfer to UC?

January 5, 201610 yr Hinshaw is hot after Johnson, has him all but locked up. Hinshaw is very high in him.
January 5, 201610 yr ^ Alabama's QB was certainly looking over his shoulder. He was sharing time the first few games this year. Sharing time tells me that both QB's were close at the talent level. It also indicates that the coaches were indecisive and needed more time to evaluate them. Neither of them were looking over their shoulder because both QB's knew what they were up against and knew it was a competition. It's a little different when you are the starter for a couple years, and then your suddenly under the microscope, and the HC is threatening to replace you. Once Alabama decided who the starter was, the competition was over for good.
January 5, 201610 yr Isn't that kid being recruited by Hawaii? I love Lexington but..... He is. As has been mentioned, he's pretty much a lock for UK. It appears he is just waiting to visit campus before finalizing his decision. The kid said in an interview that he was extremely surprised when he received the offer from UK and that he would love to play football in the SEC.

January 5, 201610 yr Man, I hope you're right. From reading his own comments (not internet rumors) if he ends up anywhere other than UK I would be just as surprised as he was when he got the phone call and offer from Hinshaw.
January 26, 201610 yr Thank goodness. That Kiel vs. Barker soap opera would have been a mess. Does it matter? #2 QB is always the fan favorite. Drew was that guy last year. Now Johnson is that guy.
