Clemson 37 Oklahoma 17

Orange Bowl National Semifinal.

Adjust at halftime and beat down.

I messed up on my prediction in the prediction thread topic.

Glad Clemson win.

Was telling my nephew today at the gym, this was Clemson's game and it would not be real close.

I did say with the way the Sooners had been playing I would not be shocked to see them win, but I doubted that would be the case.

Good on you Clemson. We've seen a lot of redemption stories in the last few years of the finals. Both FSU and Clemson were knocked for years for taking a terrible loss that they never should have. Ohio State was saddled with the belief that they could never beat an SEC team. I personally hope Clemson finishes it off.

There is more parity in college football right now than there has been in a long time.

Clemson is a solid team...any team with a dual threat QB it's like playing 12 against 11...it's a great advantage.

I think Mich St or Alabama either one will struggle to contain Clemson's offense.

Or Oklahoma was exposed for people trying to find a team to be like Osu last year, when in reality they weren't. As I said when people talked about how well they were playing, they benefitted from the two best teams they played having their qbs out. Oklahoma is a very good team but just never thought they were as good as people tried to talk them into being.

With that said I thought this game would be closer, but Clemson clearly was the better team by far.

I think Bama will have some success but Clemsons QB is going to give them fits.

Oklahoma gave Clemson all they wanted, for a half......Once Clemson got going their was no looking back...

Also heard that Clemson suspended 3 of their players including their 2nd leading receiver, who is a TE, for this game due to drugs...

The game changed when Dabo called the fake punt in the first half. After that, this game wasn't remotely close. Clemson put a behind the woodshed butt kickin' on a very good Sooner team that Clemson made looking like an DIII team in the 2nd half. OU wasn't just beaten ... they were out prepared, out hustled, out coached in every phase of the game. Clemson didn't just beat them, they physically beat them up.

Agreed, Bama will probably be the favorite to win. I don't think that will bother Dabo, Clemson at all ... they were an underdog vs. ND in the season, UNC in the ACC championship game and in this game. All of these while unbeaten, ranked #1. Anyone think that they (Clemson) kinda like this underdog thing ?

Yes, there is a thread on that. They had three fail a drug test after they arrived in Miami. Sweeny put them on a plane back to Clemson a day or two before the game.

I have even more respect for Sweeny now than before and I already had said that he is a favorite coach of mine.

My favorite line he had in the presser on Wednesday was when ask if that would hurt his team, have a negative effect on the players ? Dabo answered ... "No , absolutely not. Why should it ? We had three kids that decided that they would rather break the rules and I have 112 more kids here that want to play football. Those three that didn't were sent home. we're ready to play."........ I loved it !

They were the underdog against Notre Dame and UNC? I thought they were favorite to win when they played at home against Notre Dame and same against UNC in the ACC championship.

I'm not sure on the "point spread / Vegas" type numbers, I rarely if ever pay any attention to those. I am did hear several of the "so called" experts at Foxsorts, espn, CBSSports, etc., were picking N.D. and especially UNC to upend them in that ACC title game. That's what I was talking about. As far as if there is a such thing as an "official prediction" type site other than Vegas then I don't bet so not sure on that. I know that some were predicting Clemson in those games as well though. :thumb:
