Reading some of your posts I think we are very similar in our political stance.

 

I like some of what the democrats want to do, but think they go overboard on other issues, just like the republicans go overboard on their issues.

 

Put a non lifetime politician on the democratic ballot and there's a good chance I would vote for them.

 

If push comes to shove I am on the right if for no other reason than I think our personal safety dictates it but I like a lot of ideas on the left.

 

Give me a moderate Democrat and/or maybe what you are talking about and I am in. Same with a moderate Republican.

Take the illegal immigration issue.

 

It shouldn't matter what side your on, immigration laws are being broken in large numbers.

 

The solution should be to STOP it no matter what party you are. My relatives before me had to immigrate the legal way. My Mexican friends say the same thing, we can't keep taking thousands of undocumented people into this country. Even they no the truth.

Well, for starters - there wouldn't be a wall - Berlin-style or otherwise.

Straw Man line, it has nothing to do with Christmas. It is about enforcing our laws. It is about securing the border to protect US citizens physically and economically.

From a purely physical standpoint? Observation towers. Video surveillance. Satellite/drone surveillance. A modest increase in border agents.

 

Of course, there are other borders besides the one between Mexico and the United States. Kinda hard to build a wall all around the country. Maybe we can come up with a mega-version of the "Cone of Silence" from Get Smart.
