Hey Scott County has zero transfers and is 14-1. Just saying they are usually hounded on here for that. Billy doing a pretty good job with homegrown talent. Maybe the kids he gets just want to play for a great program.

Doesn't Greenup and Rowan have transfers this year? Is Morgan the only team in the 16th that gets transfers? I thought a lot of teams get transfers in each year. I honestly don't even know why people bring up the subject. If it is done legally and proof can be provided that the kid resides there, is there really anything that can be done about it? I guess it's just something for people to complain about. A kid can leave for prep school for their Sr year and not much is said about it. Heck who wouldn't want their kid or any other that has potential to better themselves?

 

The Greenup player in question's dad just retired from the military. His mom is originally from Wheelersburg and wanted to move back home. They ended up at Greenup instead of Wheelersburg - just across the Ohio River. I don't consider him transfer because the family moved back home.

Part of the purpose of this thread was to let some people try to explain how a transfer is not a transfer. And several of you proved me right that you are the pot calling the kettle black.

 

My dictionary says a transfer is defined as:

 

To move to a different place, region, or situation; especially: to withdraw from one educational institution to enroll at another

 

So again let me clarify that many schools in the state of Kentucky have transfers in basketball. Many people think they know reasons for a transfer but they do not. Also several if not all of the top basketball schools have transfers. If you can name one that doesn't please do. Lastly, don't comment on kids if you don't know their situation personally because rumors don't make it true. Haters don't make it true. And the chatter from within and outside your school don't make it true.

Parents have to move all the time for work or for other reasons.

Of course some moves are shady but there are a lot that are not as well.

I see nothing wrong with a kid changing schools to play on a better team, get more exposure or to play with AAU teammates. But if there is a coach, administrator or school booster pulling these strings then there is a big problem.

I saw a bit of Kentucky Tonight on KET. The guests commented on how they felt 100% sure that KHSAA would oppose Gov. Bevin's drive for charter schools because of the recruiting nightmares it would create, saying that KHSAA already has its hands full.

What do they have their hands full with? To me, they spend more time doing things that could be fixed with old fashioned common sense. It seems like they spend more time making mountains out of mole hills.
