Covington Catholic 76 Campbell County 46

Hegy and Wilson have no help, the bench is short, and they don't get Matt enough post-touches.

This margin of victory says more about Campbell Co than CovCath.

The Camels have to figure out a way to cut down on turnovers, they took themselves out of the game with, I believe, 9 of them in the 1st quarter.

The 3 - 2 zone they started the game with was an interesting twist, unfortunately for them CovCath took advantage of the open corners, plus got so many fast break points because of turnovers, it just got out of hand quickly.

There will be a new sherriff in town in the 10th this year.

This X2

Also, Campbell isn't the fastest team in the world either. The 3-2 zone intrigued me as well. As a fellow BGP'er told me tonight at the game, Campbell has a lot to work on, and the Colonels are not the team to do that against.

CovCath is about as crisp a passing team as i've seen. They'll be a tough out again in the 9th.

Most high school teams, for some reason, struggle getting bigs touches when they're open in the post.

We need to get over the hump .... don't worry, Camels will be ready come tournament time. Luckily, 10th is not the 9th.

Campbell has been underperforming. This is a new week and I think the Camels will win. Wilson will be too tough for CovCath to stop. And Hegyi can play great D and will slow down CVH enough to give Campbell their first big win this year. And it's a home game for the Camels.

Sad to see, but true post play is dying out at all levels. Defensive double downs, denials and tie ups are easier to learn/teach, than the needed post man foot work, ball position, entry & re-entry passing, etc.

100% correct. What happened to the dream shake? where is the sky hook?

Proud of Aiden Ruthsatz to score 20. He's got HUGE shoes to fill, and its good to see him starting to score.

Colonels will need Andy Flood to step up soon. I've heard he had an injury just before the season started so hopefully he continues to heal up and is back to his play from the 9th region tourney last year.

Gee, what's wrong with the Colonels?

:D

After that Cooper game you can't help but doubt. But now I'm assured that nothing is wrong with CCH. They are just as good as last year.

They are just as good as last year.

I'm not nearly ready to make that proclamation at this point. Bo and Cooper were big losses for this team, and while they have the pieces to be able to offset them, they aren't near that level yet (in my opinion).

Again, as I said above, this margin is a lot more about the Camels at this point than it is about the Colonels.

Made the comment about the 2 you mentioned after watching them play at Transy earlier this year. Huge loss for Cov Cath. They will be fine this year though.
