Montgomery County couldn't even get past a 2 win Dixie Heights.

Montgomery County worked harder that week of practice.

Fern Creek was offensively challenged but that defense was lights out. The size, speed, and athleticism on their roster was amazing. Only B.G. and Owensboro in 5A had defenses like them.

I had a hard time putting Pulaski ahead of Owensboro but I cannot get that QB/WR combo out of my head. Pulaski was great this year. The Oboro score against BG in playoffs was a bit deceiving as to what Owenboro really was. Fern Creek was good too. This poll was harder than I thought it would be and I still do not necessarily agree with myself on it.

North Laurel gave Pulaski County a better game than Highlands did. I told folks in the Highlands update thread that Pulaski County would win and they did. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't North Laurel actually hold the lead on Pulaski County longer than Highlands did? Didn't North Laurel still actually have a chance to beat Pulaski County late in the game? Hmmmm....just checked...yeah......

Soooooo....North Laurel loses to Pulaski County by 4 AT Pulaski County and Pulaski County then ventured up to Highlands where their mighty home field advantage was supposed to guide them to victory but yet Pulaski County managed to out score Highlands 27-0 on their home field after Highlands got up 31-14 in the third quarter. But Highlands is better than North Laurel?????

Now this wins the funniest post of the entire football year right there.

Don't ever apologize to a highlands fan for your opinion. They are misinformed on anything not Highlands and refuses to accept an opinion other than their own.

 

Highlands was about the 6th best team in 5A

When you have 15-18 year olds they're going to have games where they don't play as well as others.

Had to be when he was younger because it couldn't have been this year!

Those just don't usually happen at the end of the year when your team is pursuing an undefeated season, and against a pretty "meh" opponent.

Maybe if Highlands had stayed in their own class they could have competed a little more.

 

Still Simon Kenton, Ryle, Cooper are going to get the kids that normally went to the birds. So get used to not being the studs you used to be. You all can always give out participation trophies to your team.

 

Or change the name for the old gray mare to the old blue bird, she aint what she used to be.

Maybe if Highlands had stayed in their own class they could have competed a little more.

You really must be hitting the wild Irish rose way to hard!! You do know Cooper an Ryle have been around for a little bit now? You do know until this yr the Birds have been to 8 straight finals while winning 7 of them? You do know that right? I'm pretty sure both those schools were competing during that run! Highlands will continue to get kids who want to come to Highlands! Just curious who is your team?
