December 2, 201510 yr Mark Richt has been hired to be the next head coach at the University of Miami. According to ESPN. Miami is Richt's alma mater.
December 2, 201510 yr Author I didn't know he graduated from Miami. Good hire for the Canes. I didn't either till I saw some people on here inform me. I didn't think this was a good hire at all until I found out he went to Miami. Played QB there from 79-82.
December 2, 201510 yr Love it. Love it. The best thing to happen to Mark Richt might be getting let go at UGA; funny how getting fired does that sometimes.
December 2, 201510 yr Good hire. He will do a good job keep a lot of that talent home. I will go on a limb and say with in 5 years they will be in the Playoff.
December 3, 201510 yr I like the hire. With all that talent in the city, and his ties to Atlanta now he should have a nice recruiting ground. I hope he has the U in national contention in a few years
December 3, 201510 yr Why? Because I think Richt is a competent coach. I've gotten very used to incompetent ones at Miami. It's been YEARS since they've had one.
December 3, 201510 yr Good hire. He will do a good job keep a lot of that talent home. I will go on a limb and say with in 5 years they will be in the Playoff. I seriously doubt it will be that long. That team STAYS loaded in talent, a steady steam of kids wanting to stay home and play. I just hope that he doesn't get "caught up". Good for football and good for the ACC.
December 3, 201510 yr I like Richt. I think he's a classy guy. I understand that he's an alum of Miami, but their history is rather shady. Hopefully he can keep his nose clean and keep the program out of trouble, for their sake.
December 3, 201510 yr Thank you Georgia! You've made the U relevant again. Shalala leaving was a huge part of this. No way the U ponies up $4+ million for a coach with her there.... Things are looking up. I know Miami may never win a title again but at least they will be relevant. At worst, Richt should return the U to national relevancy. This was a huge hire for Miami and they got the best coach on the market (that we know of) since Chip is staying in the NFL.
