Probably. They already have a good QB committed (long time commit), so who knows. Long way from Washington to UGA and I'm sure the #1 QB will want to play immediately. Some have Kaaya as a 1st round pick (have seen him at #1 overall) after next year so he's unlikely to play immediately.

He was going to. Told the UGA players today he would not, as he was going to get to work at the U. Was going to sit this year out, and if he did he'd coach the bowl.

Little of both. He's not the incredibly strong armed gunner that usually go that high. And his OL this year was really young and bad. Just four INTs on the year. I couldn't imagine him going #1 at this time though.

Richt is a class act, a very good leader, and will positively impact the lives of hundreds of student-athletes who come through that program in the years ahead!

 

He'll not only elevate the programs success, he'll enable a culture to become believers (all pun intended)...

He's in the ACC now, and if I'm not mistaken Miami is in the other division that doesn't have Florida St and Clemson correct? I would think Miami would be the favorite for that division next year now. Maybe Miami will be back sooner than I thought.

On the college level he's not Murray or Greene yet. He has a higher ceiling than any UGA passer outside of Stafford, but he has a lot to work on. He's without a doubt Miami's best post-Dorsey QB though, and the best pro prospect they've had at QB in 20 years. I think next year is a down draft, but to be top 5 I think he'd have to come a long way, because his physical tools are not great. He does have great height though at 6'4".

 

I see him as a guy that under Richt could really shine. Depends on who comes back at WR and who else comes in. TE is pretty well set, the backs are more pass catchers than the great RBs he's had at UGA. Richt, at least initially, will probably have to go back to his "fast break offense" days, rather than what he's had to do the last few years at UGA.

 

Miami has alot of talent, but do not have the pieces yet to be truly "back", IMO. OL and front seven defensively need to improve, and they have to replace alot in the secondary (potentially). RB and WR need to continue to grow and improve as well.

I think he's going to kill it there.

I'm assuming that UNC is more of an outlier this year and I need to see years of consistency from them. That said they are the only team at the moment that I say would be ahead of Miami in there division going into next year. Being in the weaker division they could make the complete turnaround in a year much like another Florida team did this year.
