Funny, when I reported this last week I was chastised. Guess I have to say, I TOLD YOU SO.

I'm so sick of hearing about Edmonson transfering or not transfering. It makes you wonder why this kid cant stay in one place. He had a great situation at SK but couldnt wait for the team to improve.

I agree 3 different high schools in 4 years does kind of make you wonder

Yeah, you know he started as a freshman at SK and was averaging around 14 pts a game but couldnt stand losing and couldnt see that the team was full of talented freshman and would be special in a few years. So he goes off to Holmes and complains about not getting the ball enough and leaves there.

Actually Edmondson went back to Holmes because his parents got back together and they all moved in with his dad who lived in Covington. Don't bash a kid if you dont know the circumstances. And I'm not going to discuss the reasons why he left Holmes but all of you are way off base.

I actually do know the circumstances. I know Nate and his family and ive known them since Nate was in the 5th grade. I also know that Nate could have stayed at Simon Kenton if he wanted but decided he wanted to go back to Holmes. And all I heard this year was how much Nate couldnt stand playing with certain kids on Holmes team and that he didnt get the ball enough. Im sorry, im not bashing the kid, im just saying he seems hard to please.

I noticed that too, didn't the person who started this thread say last week he wasn't transferring too?

 

I wish him well wherever he plays, I hope it would be in the 9th, I have seen him play, and coached against him in spring/summer ball, one heck of a player, very competitive. Hopefully he does a great job wherever he ends up and that Holmes is as competitive as they have been in recent years too.

FBSTUD I have no clue where you get this info. But once again people are starting rumors. This is completly false all mods lock this.

Not trying to say you dont know what your talking about but I too have STRONG family ties w/ the Edmondsons and have been around Nate and his family since Nate was a kindergartner at Latonia Elementary. Nate has alot of relatives in the Gallatin area which played a factor in his FAMILY decision to attend Gallatin next year.

 

And as to me posting about him staying not too long ago, i said that because that is what HE HIMSELF told me...It was just as big a shock to me as some of you when I heard from NATE that he was transferring this late in the summer.

But when you have as much talent returning this year in Rice, Hill, Jefferson, Henderson and the talented juniors, it doesnt hurt as much as one might think. There is no other team in nky that has a better 4 than Holmes. Throw in their deep bench that they return this year and you will realize this won't be that big of a loss except maybe when they get downstate (if they can play together and make it that far.)

I can understand that, I mean no matter how close someone is to another person it's best to play it safe until the transfer actually happens.

The bench will definetly be put to use this year. They are good enough to replace one of the starters when called upon. The key to the bench though will be how much Nelson and Clark have improved because they are the only two that can give Rice a blow and everyone knows not having Rice in the game takes alot away and that was shown last year. Both Braeon Avery and Kejuan Arnold are talented enough guards to make big contributions off of the bench and give DJ, Hill, and Henderson long enough breaks so they'll be available late in games.

 

Without Edmondson, this what the starting lineup will PROBABLY look like...

 

Jefferson 1

Avery 2

Henderson 3 or 4

Hill 4 or 3

Rice 5

 

Arnold, Clark, and Nelson will rotate in and out for those 5 along will several other juniors and one or 2 sophomores. They will probably play 9-10 guys a game regularly.

Nate Edmondson has decided to transfer to Gallatin Co this upcoming season and will be playing for them. It was a family decision and thats all I will post about it.

 

How much will he improve the Gallatin squad? I know they were young this year and still had a decent team.

 

I think this hurts Holmes' chances of winning the 9th Region...Edmonson will help the Wildcats probably advance into the semi's or finals of the All A tournament.... as far as the regional....I don't care what you say... I saw Shelby play in the State Tourney and they had two juniors who were 6'8 and 6'9 and they were men among children out there... swatting shots like flys...dunking....running the floor.. it was amazing.. theyre coach was very good too so I say they are the favorite ... but SK returns some studs too.

 

I cant say much about Edmonson because I only read about him and know he had a great Soph season helping them to the state tourney.. his jr season IMO was a flop... I saw him play against Highlands and he stunk it up.. jacked up 30 footers and couldnt hit he ocean from the beach.... Gallatin has a nice bunch of young kids so he will have to be the leader ....
