Nate Edmondson has decided to transfer to Gallatin Co this upcoming season and will be playing for them. It was a family decision and thats all I will post about it.

 

How much will he improve the Gallatin squad? I know they were young this year and still had a decent team.

I think he is one of the best shooters in NKY....well was.

Definetly agree with you FF. I think it will be good for him though because he won't be surrounded by kids who all wanna be the star so he'll see the ball alot more. IMO he could be the one of the top scorers in the state this upcoming season.

This will definitely hurt Holmes chances of winning the 9th region.

I cant agree more. I dont know much about Galitin Co. but I would imagine he will be the man there, and he could really be leader, and I also think he will be among the leaders in scoring.

 

And on the flip side, like Tiger said, this is a big blow to Holmes's chances on winning the 9th next year. If CCH wasnt the favorite before...they are now.

Gallatin only lost one senior I believe and were pretty solid last year, so Nate could have the chance to make Gallatin a team to recon with this upcoming season. But as you said he will definetly bring leadership to this team and with them getting him 20 shots a game, I see no reason why he can't be one of the top scorers in the state.

 

As far as Holmes goes, the loss of Edmondson could be good in a way. With all the talent they have coming back, maybe the loss of a star will force them to play more as a team. Also i Believe Rice is back so he should pick up the void that Edmondson is leaving. Don't forget you still have Henderson, Jefferson, Hill, and Rice in the starting line up. Little Braeon Avery will most likely move in to the starting position which will move DJ over to the other guard. IMO both Holmes and Gallatin will benefit from this but Holmes will definetly miss Nate's 3-point presence.

Gallatin won 19 games last year, including the 8th Region Class A and The 31st District. They used a 9 man rotation last year and 8 of those players are back.

The one thing the Cats were lacking last year was a consistent perimeter threat. They had none, plus their free throw shooting was dreadful. They were already heavy favorites to win the District and All A Region to begin with.

The addition of Edmondson will definetly make them a contender not just at the all a region but also the 8th region in general. Nate will bring a outside threat to the team and also give them more size (6'3 180 lbs.). I think this move will be great for both Nate and his family.

Don't get me wrong, Nate will definetly be missed, but with who they have coming back and the talent of the underclassmen (last years sophomore aau state champs), I just dont see it being that big of a loss. Only concern I have is they dont really have any other consistent 3 point shooters like Nate. Only person I see that could fill that hole is maybe Austin Hill and Duran is a little streaky.

Well they got the perfect player. They sound like a team to watch out for.
