I believe Scott can stop the run. Can Johnson Center pass? The times I've seen Johnson against Highlands, their passing was woefully inept. I'm not certain they knew you were allowed to pass if it wasn't 3rd and long.

A lot better than it has been before IMO. They've worked on it a lot in the regular season, but will still run the ball more than not.

My one and only post on this thread. What I do know is that JC is starting to get healthy, still not 100% contrary to earlier reports and really haven't been since the Lexington Catholic game. I also know that Scott is a team that will not quit until the final horn and the playoffs should be enough to prove that. In their first two games they could've easily folded the tents and packed it up but they did not. They kept fighting and were able to pull out the W. If JC thinks they have this in the bag then it will be time to roll out the round balls. No one on that team should expect to just show up and win, despite their current circumstances because the Belfry game is a prime example of not being mentally ready. I fully expect this one to be a nail biter all the way.

I think this game will be closer than many expect. Scott has now shown how tough they are and beating Ashland should tell everyone they can play with Johnson Central. Johnson Central is the clear favorite but expect this to be a hard fought battle and an upset is definitely possible. I will be more surprised by a blowout win by Johnson Central than an upset by Scott.

I said at the beginning of the year Scott would be a contender in 4A. Hopefully they win Friday.

Scott is definitely a run first team, so if they can get the pass game going a little bit, they could pull out a win.

I thought Scott passed very well against Ashland. It seemed like they pick good times to pass too. There were a couple of dropped passes that could have hurt us ever worse. If JC plays like they did against us (9 in the box with no safety), Scott's passing game could play a big factor.

Ashland had no viable passing threat, thus JC loaded the box in an attempt to limit Baker. If Scott has a viable passing threat, I would expect JC to honor it.

I guess I should ask, which team has a bit of a passing game? Whomever has that edge is the one I pick.

With JC having their QB back they do have a passing game. With Blanton and Workman together defending the pass I like our chances! JC38 Scott 20

Yes. He played in the game against Greenup Co until the Eagles extended the game out to a running clock. Then Blanton took over at QB.

 

I would expect to see Workman near 100% this week and become a factor in JC running game and defense as well. But that's just me speculating.

I would love to see the Eagles win. However, JC is a physical bunch and will be difficult for the Eagles to stop. Both teams are one dimensional, so I doubt there will be a bunch of scoring. I will take JC by 14
