two comments about the game and the rivalry:

1. is it time for coach W to step down? He has had 3 years and still has not really learned a lot.

2. Without 3 amazing pass plays it very well could have been 0-0 at halftime.

bonus: the X "no-huddle" offense does not move the game as fast as Trinity's where they huddle after every play.

Since the infamous hat tip the combined scores of Trinity/X games has been 328-110.

 

I often wonder if Mike wishes he would have handled that moment differently.

 

Also, how many of X's O-Linemen graduate? Ridder is a great athlete but without good protection he could get killed.

Couple of thoughts: T's QB mentioned in the CJ that X doesn't do much with their scheme in defense, which is true. Bruner is doing a great job, but against top teams he has to be able to throw in things that keep opposing offenses off balance instead of playing them head up.

 

Tough having 3 different offensive coordinators in 3 years, but next year will be a good evaluation of this offensive scheme. X has a QB that fits the scheme.

 

As a fan and alum, tough to see offense struggle in big games consistently.

 

Tipped cap or no tipped cap, T has had the better players over the last 5-6 years.

Saw both teams play for first time last night. Both well coached as there were very few penalties. No encroachment by either D-line, no false starts by either O-line (false starts were on skill positions), don't believe there were any holding calls either.

 

My takeaway from the game, as I mentioned before are well coached, is that #34 for Trinity never carries the ball in his left hand. Hurt? Or just not something he does? Seems like he has potential to play in college, yet odd this hasn't been coached out of him yet.

I think this X team is gonna be really really good next season, lots of key underclassman, especially the qb. Next year will be a big year for Coach W, we'll see what happens.

St X will be the second best team in their district again in 2016. Losing Butler, O'Daniel, and 34 other seniors will be tough on the Tigers.
