Congratulations CCH players, coaches, and school. A fantastic win, great tournament, unbelievable season!

Started off by winning the always tough 9th Region, then a difficult state tournament draw, beating a good Montgomery Co team on their field. Dominating a very good Trinity and then capping it off with a convincing 3-0 win against Henry Clay. No one can ever say your State Championship was not earned the hard way.

At least 15 rows of 16 boys, and that is a conservative and very quick count. HC showed up with about 3 rows of 15 kids. I was shocked and disappointed.

 

Of course, the packed stadium (one side) was 80% CovCath fans, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

What a great night for the CCH soccer program, going into a season with such high expectations.... and the pressure that comes with it.... is never easy, you have acquitted yourselves very well.

 

I am so glad that we made the trip to Lexington today to help support our friends from Park Hills, very proud to be a part of the Colonel cheering section tonight that witnessed a convincing win over a very good Henry Clay squad, and the first soccer championship for NKY.

 

A nice job done by all the past 2 weeks but a special shout out to Griffin Lamb... what a State Tourney.... 5 goals and 4 assists. Well done Griff!!!

Great job CovCath. I was serving food in a church kitchen tonight and managed to stay in the dark until I could get home to watch the whole game on KHSAA tv. Well worth the wait. Henry Clay looked like the better team for the first 10 minutes and after that CovCath took control. Ben Darpel is an absolute stud and Griffin Lamb connected with team mates in the game that mattered most. Sam Romes was the better keeper in the game. As fun as Collin Rose was to watch, Day and Wessels (and the collective CCH backline) did not allow Henry Clay to penetrate for 80 minutes. When Chris Hunt or Aime Mabika came forward they hit the brick wall that is the CCH defense. Well done Colonels. Well deserved. Awesome job bringing the first state championship back to NKY.

I was thoroughly impressed by the officiating really didn't miss a thing. I was a little disappointed hearing a Cov Cath parent say "come on take him out" talking about #15 Chris Hunt extremely classless, but you can't win them all.
