When did FTJFL change the colors? Back in the day, it was red, white, blue, and green.

 

It's Red-White & Blue as of late with the 7/8th grade level. With only 70-80 players, it's Difficult to get a 4th team. The FTJFL would need to get to 90 players to be able to add a 4th team. The only reason they went back to Green this past year is because 1 of the coaches hated the Color Red and refused to Coach it if it stayed that way. It will go back to Red-White & Blue in 2016. Sammy Taylor played for the Black team on the 3/4th or 5/6th is to why he has a Black Jersey. Sammy T was a Red Teamer his 7-8th grade years.

Yeah I know the coach that wanted to be Green! Coached with him for years. He really does a great job with the kids. I think he was joking about the color demand but they did it anyways to get him back as a coach.

Highlands, they beat CCH, so they are the number 1 seed.

 

Are you sure it is b/c they are #1 seed? I thought home field advantage took turns after the first 2 rounds regardless of seed

Home field is high seed or odd district, if tied.

I thought it took turns at the Semis. For instance if Pulaski and Cov Cath keep winning it would be at Cov Cath regardless of seeding. I don't know where the game would be if Highlands and Madison Southern (both #1s ) both won? That may take turns.

If HHS and MS end up playing, it would be at HHS because they are the odd district.

Red Teamer here!!! Or whatever color the North End is now (was white when I coached). FTJFL Red has produced some pretty good QBs. Hoge and Towles... Come to mind....

White teamer here (5th & 6th). When I was in 7th & 8th grade there were two Highlands middle school teams and we played the likes of Kline, Riley, NCC, Holmes and Newport. Coaches were Jeep McFarlan, Dave Bibb Sr., Jim Abner, Greg Cornett to name a few. It was a lot of fun.

 

Towles was on the Gold team, coached by the legendary Kevin Schuppe. At least for 7th and 8th grade anyways. Hoge was a freak for the Red team.
