June 27, 200620 yr Do you think you could come to a conclusion on the weather 400 years ago across the world if no one was keeping track and passing along the info??? So how did they get the information 400 years ago. I thought the story was that 400 years ago it was hotter than it is now instead of that was where the information ceased. Did I misread the story? How far back do we have accurate information. I can easily understand that the pollution we put out has some sort of negative effect on this planet. How much is the question? This is one of those issues I am really unsure and confused about. Now like the gambling issue, where I have all the answers.

January 10, 200719 yr We need to be concerned about our environment. Whether or not human generated global warming exists or not, we should be doing what we can to be good stewards of this world. We should also be doing a comprehensive studiy on the changes in the climate. This should be done without any assumptions as to its cause. If you try to figure out what the problem is after you've predetermined the answer, it makes real solutions hard to come by.

But doesn't it make sense to try to take steps that would lessen the our impact on our environment? Say you smell smoke, and you're not sure if there's a fire in your house or somewhere outside. Doesn't it make sense to look around the house first? While you're at it, maybe you could shut off that leaky gas burner, clean up the oily rags, unplug some tattered extension cords, and take away the matches from your child. Like it or not, we live in an ever-shrinking little bubble. Maybe we should stop blowing smoke.

January 11, 200719 yr We should take care of our enviornment, but as it has already been said: When somebody claims "the earth is as warmest it has been since..." then obviously it has been this warm before.... I just think that's a poor argument for why it must be our fault.
