These balmy temperatures we're having are a proven sign that Uncle Al is right on target.

I'm still a Doubting Thomas on the whole global warming thing. The growing concern about it with Americans is, in my opinion, attributable more to the media constantly talking about global warming than it is with real uncontroverted proof that global warming is being caused by pollution. Add to that the fact that all the political types running for Pres. are all out there pandering that they have a plan to stop global warming, its not a surprise tha some politicians are stating that global warming can no longer be seriously debated and that even the corporate types are admitting it. How politically expedient of them. As the WSJ article rather succinctly points out, those corporate types now "coming to the table" admitting there is a problem with global warming caused by pollution, are all in a position to profit heavily if there are emission caps and a forced shift away from coal. My guess is that if legislation is adopted to reduce emissions, the coal fields of Ky will be a big, big loser. Lets hope that intelligent people prevail on this matter and we don't go running through the brush at night to fix a problem that we aren't conclusively certain is even happening. I hope, but am not optimistic, that we don't go jausting at windmills.

One of the proposed solutions for countering global warming is air pollution. Particles in the air have a cooling effect because, unlike greenhouse gases, they don't let heat into the atmosphere. But this makes me wonder. Has the substantial cleanup of the world's air pollution caused the world to heat up?
