Reality is the Bengals are 8-0. Some bitter 30 year "fan's" prediction for the future is nowhere near reality. Pick a new word, my friend.

 

And as far as history being the biggest indicator, please show me where in history the Bengals ever started 8-0. It would seem to me they are writing a new story this season. Also, last time this franchise started out this well they lost in the Super Bowl on an unbelievable drive by a player who has been considered the best to ever do it by some.

 

Here is some more reality for you my friend, the Bengals haven't won a playoff game in in 27 years, and winning 1 playoff game this season don't make the Bengals great either, get to the AFC Championship game then we'll talk. Ain't happening, again just a loving dose of reality for you friend.

On this Bengals team right now, I would take the following QB's over Dalton in a heart beat, again , just for this season.

1) Brady

2) Rogers

3) P Manning ( this year )

4) Ryan

5) Big Ben

6) Rivers

7) Newton

8) Palmer

9) Wilson

 

If you put ANY of the QB's on THIS Bengals team, they are more of a Super Bowl favorite to win it, then with Dalton. Everyone of the QB is better then Dalton, if they are on this team Bengals team, again just reality Who-Deyers. Dalton IS going to come up SMALL in a BIG SPOT down the road, you can take that to the bank.

 

Let me also add Luck, and Brees as well, forgot them earlier.

More GM's rank Ryan higher than Dalton, and IF he was on this Bengals team, they would be even better, remember he has won a playoff game as well, just saying.

More GM's don't rank him higher... Love how you make thing up. And have you watched Ryan and Dalton the last 4.5 years? Not even close. Matt Ryan is the reason they lost last week... He's a poor decision maker and he has nice weapons too. Oh boy, he won a playoff game in a weaker NFC... Plus he's been in the league longer than Dalton, hasn't been to the playoffs as often (again in a weaker division and conference) and only has one "home" playoff win.

Several of the other guys on your list haven't had better careers than Dalton either.. But I wouldn't take Ryan for free.

Let's see, high school football, vs. pro football, apples and oranges my friend, and BTW, SK has a better chance of winning a state title then the Bengals do winning a Super Bowl.

You say REALITY like its a foregone conclusion. The only actual reality you've mentioned is what has happened in the past.

 

I didn't say anything about them being great if they win 1 playoff game and that is something you won't hear me say. But no one on here is saying they are great. Everyone is excited to have the best start in franchise history with a team that is absolutely fun to watch and the real fans are enjoying the REALITY of their current success. Can't wait to see where it leads, but you nor I can predict the future and call it REALITY.

 

I can see why you would be bitter at this franchise, it has given us nothing for the entirety of my life expect for an AFC Championship, several AFC North Championships and a lot of heart break to end the season. I understand that, but this team shouldn't carry the burden of the whole franchise's failures.

 

Andy Dalton is a winner, always has been, check the records. Sorry that offends you because he must've cut you off in traffic or something. Dude is playing elite football this season has shown he is capable of overcoming adversity in a game and has lead his team to the best start in franchise history. There is literally nothing more he could do to this point to get people off his back.

You're right, I bit....

This team. There is just a different feel about them. Hands down they have the most talent in the league and it's not even close. Marvin Jones is a number 1 receiver on at least half the teams in the league. Hill hasn't shown us yet what he is capable of, but it doesn't really matter. We have so many weapons around him that he has the luxury of being able to figure it out one game at a time without anyone noticing. The defense was the biggest positive of the night. The first half they weren't being disciplined in their rush and they got out of their rush lanes and Johnny kept getting out of the pocket. But the adjustment Guenther made at half was great, I don't even know how big of an adjustment it was other than just telling the D-Line to keep containment. By the way Johnny Football is tiny. The only was he is throwing the ball is to get out of the pocket. He can't see past his O Line. But anyways. It was great to see the Bengals take care of business tonight. This is what we want to see from them. That has been their weakness with Primetime games. They treat it as though they have to create this perfect game plan. They don't have to do that anymore. They have 1 game plan for every game. Run Hill or Bernard which ever one is having the better game. throw to whichever receiver is open AJ, Marvin, and Sanu because they are all capable of making big plays in the open field. Inside the 20 just throw it up for Eifert. While he may not be Gronk yet, he is definitely more athletic. That move he made on the cornerback last night was dirty. Keep taking care of business. Wow be careful calling this the most talented team in the league. I simply said the 2013 team was the most talented Bengals team since their last Super Bowl appearance, and was one of the most talented in the league and I got eaten alive for making that comment. I was told how I didn't have a realistic view of the team, and how they needed to go out spend lots of money to get some top free agent WR's, etc.

 

So I got eaten alive for that comment, and well that 2013 team is basically the exact same team that we have this year, except now also having Jeremy Hill. So be careful saying things like this.

 

Obviously I am being very sarcastic and completely agree with what you are saying about the talent on this team. They have had it for years, just last year all the injuries killed them. Not to mention now we have a QB who now is playing with a whole other demeanor and that talent is showing even more.

Interesting comment I heard on the radio coming home from the game. The Bengals treated the Browns like the Patriots treat most of their opponents. Methodically beating them into despair and submission. Maybe that says more than anything how far Cincinnati has come this year.

This game was a Tale of Two Halves. Johnny Football was making it tough on us because we kept letting him out of the pocket as we all saw. Bottled him up in the second half and he just cannot throw the ball well/accurately. I will say his receivers did not help at all. Gabriel has bricks for hands.

 

My only concern is Jeremy Hill. He looks a little slower and is not getting to hole as quickly as last year. Something isn't right and I have no idea what it is. Don't know if physical or mental. When Gio is in the game with basically the same plays he finds the holes and is getting the extra yards.

 

Other than that, they just plugged along tonight in workmanlike fashion. It is aleays good to beat a division opponent.

 

See, I feel the last couple games Hill has started to look like his old self again. I don't think he's 100% either. The way his knee was rolled up on in the SD game, I've gotta think it's still lingering.

 

He is a little better than earlier but nothing like the end of last year. Maybe it is his knee.

 

Its a combination of a lot of things IMO. I do think he has looked better lately. However I do think his knee is not 100%, I also think some of it is mental and not wanting to fumble and some of it is him wanting so much to make big plays like last year that he is not running with the same natural instincts as last year and is thinking to much.

 

Not to mention the offense we are running this year, is not the same he thrived in last year which had a lot more I formations with the fullback. Plus honestly the line isn't creating as big of a hole, and Gio is so small he is able to fit through those tiny opening a lot better.

 

Either way this is a good problem to have. We know what Hill can do, but even if he is not playing to his potential, we have another RB who also can do a lot of good things.

Gotta feeling I'll be referencing this thread in a couple if months. Hopefully it's still open...
