Where Does Your Go-To Caffeine Source Figure In?

Featured Replies

Wait...you drink 4 or 5 Mountain Dews a day?! Dude, that's too many.

I agree that's excessive, but I have to have the go fuel.

2 cups of coffee every morning. Then I only drink water till I eat. Everytime I eat I drink Arizona southern brewed sweet tea. Coffee water and sweet tea are the only three things I ever drink.

I've quit all soft drinks at least a dozen times. Works for a bit. I actually get over the caffeine withdrawal pretty quickly.

I then go to Skyline and say "well I have to have a Pepsi with my food" and start the gradual decline back into regular consumption. Weak.

I've got the soft drink thing licked most of the time after probably something like a 40+ year addiction, but just like you I can slip and have to start backing away all over again.

I suppose that I do have a caffeine dependency because the day wouldn't seem the same unless I began it with two cups of coffee in the morning. If for some reason I miss my normal dose, a headache will ensue.

I have no trouble stopping at two cups, but I really love my morning coffee and just hope that the Dr. doesn't one day say that it's time to stop.

For the rest of the day I'm cool with either water or unsweetened tea.

Does anyone know if fountain drinks have the same caffeine as soda in a can or bottle?

I take about three cups of Gevalia French Roast to work with me every day. Sometimes I drink it all, but most of the time I don't. Outside of that I don't have much caffeine intake. Like someone else said, I could drink a cup of coffee right before bed and it wouldn't disrupt my sleep one bit.

The caffeine is the least of your worries. If you need that just take caffeine pills. There isn't too many things I can think of that are as unhealthy as drinking that much Dew pop daily.

When I work out in the morning I'll take pre work out that has 175mg or so. Then make a cup of coffee with my Kuerig to take to work, then usually drink 2 more cups at work. My cup at work is a little bigger than a normal coffee mug. On the weekends I usually only have 2-3 cups from my Kuerig.

I have been caffeine free for over a week now.

I don't drink much caffeine. I never drink coffee, but I will drink soft drinks. Like some others on here, I go through spurts where I drink water only, but easily fall back into the trap of drinking soft drinks.

I start each day with a glass or two of water, and drink water fairly consistently throughout the day. I have plenty of vices, but caffeine isn't one.

I wish that I could say the same about bedtime coffee, but I discovered after too many incidences over the years that it was the late night caffeine rush that had caused me to have convulsions in my sleep where I would practically bite my tongue off and feel the damage for typically a good 10 days until it healed, and waking up in a stupor out of my bed with a bloody and sore tongue feeling exhausted and drained wondering where I was and why I wasn't in my bed, with lamps and tables knocked over.

I actually believe that it has caused me seizures because of the dumbfoundedness that I experienced in the process, and the excessive worn out feeling that I felt after waking that resembled nothing like just simply being tired.

I, when figuring that the coffee was the culprit immediately quit drinking it at nighttime and have not had these sleep time experiences since, but have actually 3 times this year have had similar type seizure experiences when initially fully awake, and then conking out at the flip of a switch, but those seizures were without doubt caused by very strong antibiotics that I've been on and off of numerous times this year to try to eradicate the life threatening e coli bug that the hospital gave to me during my "successful" Dec 4th, 2014 colon cancer surgery that I have still yet been able to get rid of, thank you very much St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas.

Because of those 3 antibiotic induced seizures, I had to have a brain scan and some other brain tests that concluded that there was nothing wrong with me except evidence of normal aging.

Now every time I have to dose with antibiotics, which is often as I am presently doing through an IV as I type this post, I have to be on seizure medicine too to help prevent any more of those awful experiences from happening again.

I am for certain though that nighttime coffee is an absolute no-no for me and it has really been proven to have been the culprit of my past sleep time problems because it never seemed to fail that I would have issues if drinking coffee before bedtime, and now that I absolutely don't do that, I no longer have had sleep time seizures even when I'm not on the seizure medicine.

I take pre work out powder supplement called Neurocore before I workout. I usually workout 4-5 times a week. Other than that I don't take in any liquid caffeine unless I'm dead tired at work then I might have a Powerade.

I've cut mine way down. I have a cup of coffee on the mornings I coach and usually a cup anytime I have a morning drive over 30 minutes.

I sprinkle in one or two sugar free Red Bulls a week.

It probably averages to 3.5 drinks a week.

Now that it's stout season I may get some caffeine from some of the stouts that are brewed with coffee.

At this point I am very happy with that as in the past my consumption has been outrageous. Days filled with Red Bull, espresso, and multiple cups of coffee.

16oz of coffee, not every day, but probably 5 out of 7 days a week. Sweet tea is the go-to drink for me.

I used to absolutely destroy Mtn. Dew, and other soft drinks, but haven't had one in 9 years. It was actually a lot easier then I thought it would be, and only rarely do I even think about it...mainly craving a grape soda when eating peanut butter crackers.

Powerade doesn't have caffeine.

Powerade doesn't have caffeine.

I was thinking sugar in my head. So yeah other than my pre workout that's about it on a daily basis.
