They moved England out of the backfield and into a slot receiver role. Crazy IMO.

Wasn't a bad move at all imo. He has struggled some against a good D-line and he is most dangerous when he can use his power and strength in the open field. They proved that in their game against Conner. Once they moved him out to the slot he becomes even more

Dangerous especially seeing how their other backs are faster so this way they can use more weapons at the same time. Now the only concern is getting him enough touches in the passing game.

Disagree on England. He's an elite athlete and punishes defenses when he gets 25 touches per game. At slot, he see's the ball way too infrequently.

I guess that's my point, why is he not touching the ball more? Heard he was on the sideline against Dixie half the game! What crazy coach would put such an athlete on the sidelines? If it's the head coach, he's not helping the kids' numbers much! :idunno:

Don't get me wrong, glad they did it. The move helps my Pioneers but not sure it helps the HS team win games. Maybe that's a better college fit but it's still HS season and the staffs job is to put kids in the best position to win those games.

They passed and they passed a lot. Morgan was very good when he had time. When pressured is when he struggled. Dixie had atleast 2 INTs and they both came on passes where Morgan was under pressure.

 

Game was 17-14 with about 8 minutes left in the 4th. Dixie got down the field but stalled out. They attempted a FG to tie it (short yardage FG) but the kick was blocked (3rd placekick that was affected on the night - 2 blocked, 1 tipped but still converted) and the ball shot off towards the Dixie sideline. Looked like it would go out of bounds but made a left turn and bounced into the hands of a Ryle player who was in stride. He took it to the house to make it 24-14. Not sure how the final 7 were scored for Ryle.

 

Dixie lost the wind in their sails after the blocked FG was returned.

Wow! Why is he not used more??? Is he nursing an injury? The kid is a man amongst boys. I've only seen him once and it was against a small HHS team, but I have to think that teams would not be able to consistently stop him if Ryle gave him the ball more and he was the focus.

Curious how it is going for England on the recruiting front. I know at the beginning of the year there was quite a bit of talk about him among others in NKY. Also wondering if he is being recruited as a running back, receiver or some other position.

Do you know his numbers for each game this year? I am not sure what to make of the numbers in the 3 games you listed.

 

Another question comes to mind. What are the numbers for the other backs that Ryle has?

I am hearing it has to do much more with the "type" of head coach they have. He's placing a bet on one ticket when the odds are not in the favor. I've seen them play a few times, but when I heard England barely played in Dixie's game I was a bit perplexed. It's not rocket science, it's high school football! Their new qb is not doing anything more than the qb's he's playing against lately. Under pressure he seems uncomfortable, unlike Racke or Brown from Cooper, can't imagine what Brown could have done if he'd been playing that position all along!! If this is the case, you have the horses, run the ball, RUN THE BALL!! But Engler is choosing to keep it in the air. I believe the torch has somewhat been handed to the Chisholm kid but for the life of me I don't understand where England has been in all this. Feel bad for the kid and I've heard a few other players have been in the same situation. Best of luck to them, just don't think they will be playing past next Friday!
