October 24, 201510 yr Author Read a story on Ben Zobrist. He had no scholarship offers out of high school and was set to go to a small Bible college to become a minister like his dad. There was a local $50 tryout camp that he paid for with his birthday money. Got a NAIA scholly and then transferred to Dallas Baptist (big-time baseball program) and got drafted in the 6th round. Well spent $50.
October 24, 201510 yr This should be a great matchup...I think the Mets have too much pitching but the Royals are very good. Interesting that the Royals go from playing a hitting dominant team to a pitching dominant team. I hope Cueto pitches well too...
October 24, 201510 yr Really pulling for the Royals in this one. Can honestly say I don't think there's a player on their team I don't like. And there's no real weakness in their lineup. (Zobrist replacing Infante is HUGE factor in that.)
October 26, 201510 yr Royals in five. Went to quite a few games in K.C. years ago to watch George Brett, Hal McRae, Amos Otis, Dennis Leonard, Steve Busby, Darrell Porter, etc. Glad to see 'em doing so well the past two years.
