Over capacity

 

Best crowd at SK all season. Atmosphere was great but not as great as the girls regional championship on Thursday night.

Ryle played SK tough last season in Union with ball control and using the big back. This year they tried to mimic SK's offense in the spread and it took the ball out of their best offensive player.

 

Whichever, didn't work last year and didn't work last year.

You can see what attracts interest for Morgan. Quick release. Zip on the ball. Can squeeze it into spots others cannot. Not perfect. Sometimes tries to squeeze it in when it's not there.

 

Kid never got time to set. SK D was just too good up front.

 

He has all the tools. As I said earlier this was the first game I've seen where he just didn't look comfortable. That was due to the line not giving him any time. He can make all the throws and has great velocity on his passes also.

 

He will be good at the next level. Last night neither were lights out but that happens.

Fans from both sides did a great job creating an electric environment last night. Sounded like a Ryle home game when they scored on that first drive. Of course, the roar from the home side on the goal line stand was amazing.

 

Still believe that Friday nights were made for games like this one.

I don't think it was a problem

At all moving England to the slot and not running him last night. England struggles against good D-lines and SK's line had their way with Rykes O-line last night which is why Morgan was running for his life. England is a north south runner, he doesn't have the speed to get outside against a dominating line. It showed in a couple of their last few games already.

 

Moving England to slot was a great move as it showed on the first drive. The problem was after that drive he was double covered the rest of the night and Morgan had no time to let plays unfold and get his recievers into their routes before he had to get rid of the ball.

 

England not getting the ball isn't as much of a coaching issue as it was how well SK's defense adjusted to him. I watched it on line and every pass to him he had at least 2 pioneers draped over him.

Easy to blame the coach. It's still a team effort. Ever since Ryles loss two weeks ago the team needs to kick it back up a notch. You can't coach kids if they don't have the drive or desire to win, even after a loss. Especially if any of them want to play college.

Sometimes people need to realize it may not be coaching at all but just the team itself. Just may not be as good as many thought they were to begin with. Remember they did play 3 winless teams out of their first 6. Why do people always want to blame coaching first? Grant Co. Was scoring big time at the beginning of the season, now look at them. Still no district wins. Is it the coaches fault?

 

Ryle has some great athletes but when the line is overpowered they struggle big time. That isn't coaching, that is reality.

And you know that as fact how? Colton Williams is drawing interest from teams all over the country. FSU had an OL from Ohio a couple years ago, Zebrie Sanders. They will go where the talent is, and Colton may end up being one of the most highly recruited kids to come out of here.

For sure !!!!!! Agree with another comment about England like a magic act now you see him now you don't .... One of the strongest kids on the field he would get 15+ touches a game at any other school . Ryle scores SK makes adjustment and Ryle finds them self struggling to get first downs as they go 1-4 when the game wasn't in garbage time and third down conversions were ugly . 4 fourth and less than 1 and the O line got smashed and pushed back into the backfield ... Ryle is praying for a Cooper lose lol if not they don't get out of round two in the playoffs.

He had two plays that he had two pancake blocks in the same play. Scary thing about Colton is, he should be a freshman. Parents started him in school early.

 

He is going to be fun to watch over the next few years.

Agree !!!!! Between the whole staff at Ryle not one has an creative offensive enough mind set to say ok 3 times in a row it didn't work lets try it again no way they would think we would try it again lol .....Ryle ran off the best offensive mind they have ever had and prob top 3 in the state in mike Davis --- oh yes he is at Scott co who is the only team they may be able to play with the big 2 !!!!

The poster didn't say he was being recruited, only looked at. I imagine these top programs with their resources available look at a lot of kids and he certainly sounds like one they would want to keep on their radar. I look forward to seeing him play the next couple years.

FYI grant co don't have no where near the athletes that Ryle has and it is the coaches responsibility to put your team and players in the best position to excel to give your team the best chance to win !!! The whole night Ryle maybe ran 20% of the offense that they practice during the week -- is that the players or the coaches fault ?

You seem to dismiss the biggest reason Ryle struggled all night long. Their line could not block SK period. You can have 1000 plays in your playbook and the best WR and RB in the area but when your QB doesn't even have time to set his feet or the d line is beating your RB from getting the handoff then you won't succeed. Keep blaming the coaches. You same people are the ones who praised the same coaches when you were 6-0 playing winless teams.

 

It all starts up front and Ryles front lines have been outmanned 2 of the last 3 weeks. That isn't coaches that is players.
