Mason County 2015/1016

Featured Replies

If they would just classify basketball we wouldn't have all this to worry with. Go compete with schools more your size. It wouldn't take a once in a lifetime team to win a district. When for the most part an average Mason Co team like this yr. has as good as shot as a great Augusta and great Bracken team.

I know I probably just opened a can of worms with that statement but it is what it is.

It was a blow out and that was last year and all except Williams is gone. Like comparing apples to oranges. Last yr Bracken Co was a team of Sophmores with one senior and two juniors. Very inexperienced. They had more than one game like that. But all that combined with the regions best coach will only propel those kids to bigger better things. Last seasons debacle with the Jeremy Miles experiment and the schedule those boys played is only gonna make them better and tougher this season. And not to mention they will play Mason at home and if they meet in the district it will also be in Brooksville so they do have that going for them. For what ever reason Mason Co in the past has struggled at times in the igloo.

You don't want him to bring up the past so why would you bring it up? Nothing we can do to change it now.

Unfortunately my time machine broke. :(

Honestly I don't give a :poop: what anyone brings up about last season because your right it was last year. He right though Bracken was very sub par last season but that's because they were very young and inexperienced. Very similar to how Mason Co is this year. I'll make no bones about it I am a small school fan. Anytime a small school can do well I think it's great. I am really on the Bracken bandwagon this yr. I've watched a lot of high school sports and the group of now juniors are a very talented group of kids in multiple sports. And these next two years are the best opportunity for something great to happen. So I apologize if I offend some on here but anytime a small school has success over a Bigger powerhouse school I think it's awesome.

And if I am wrong I'll be the first one to admit it and will have a frosty beer with my crow.

Go ahead and class them, MC might have more than 2 State Championship banners if it was done that way.

I'd be more than happy not to have to play Lex Cath and all the big private schools. In the end Augusta and Bracken would still be in the same position with LCA, NCC, and schools like that.

To hell with that. :lol2: private and public would have to be separated:thumb:

Then I guess you want Mason to win when we play Clark and Campbell. Mason is definetly small school as compared to them. :ylsuper::ylsuper:

Who do you cheer for when Bracken, Augusta, St. Pat, Robertson, Silver Grove, Bellvue, etc. all play against each other? :)

Bracken and Augusta (im from the 39th district, grew up in the 38th ) When they play each other Im with Bracken.

Let's get back on topic.. Mason County still in my opinion are still the district favorites followed by Bracken then Augusta. The Royals travel to the Igloo December 15th. The district needs to be seeded to make these games mean more. This will be a great District Tournament at the Igloo! Also, does anyone know if when Pig Williams will be 100%?

One things for sure it will be a good tournament. I am with you on the seeding, but unfortunately that won't happen anytime soon I am afraid. Last I checked Bracken and St. Pat voted for seeding while Mason and Augusta voted for the dreaded draw.

Reason for that is in Augusta's case they will take their chances and hope to stay away from Mason County in the first round. For Mason County they don't want to have to dedicate 6 games for seeding. Not to mention they don't want to have to travel to Augusta or St. Pat to play a game. They feel those games would be better served against bigger opposition than for district play.

I guess they could forfeit their district games and take the 4 seed. So they wouldn't have to schedule district games. Personally I think all district should seed and I believe all but 3 in the state do with two of the three that don't being in the 10th region.
