October 13, 201510 yr Interesting read, but the criteria is flawed IMO. The number of places available to buy booze and the amount of people who talk about drinking? How do you measure how much a community talks about things? What about measuring actual alcohol sales, and alcohol related arrests? No way Crestview Hills makes the list and Covington doesn't.

It's part of the amalgamation of small towns patched together to make NoKy. Sits between Erlanger, Edgewood and Ft. Mitchell. I'm just missing Paducah and Brandenburg.

October 13, 201510 yr Don't get me wrong — I like the scrappiness. You gotta remember you're dealing with heavy hitters with centuries of drinking experience here, and in Newport, for that matter. 25-30 years ago I would have helped the numbers in Newport, not at all today.

Ahh, I don't think I've ripped a glass there then. Girlfriend's from Brandenburg, works there, and her family still lives there. Used to be a fun dive bar there but it's had ownership problems as of late.
October 13, 201510 yr 25-30 years ago I would have helped the numbers in Newport, not at all today. There's been plenty of new blood to pick up your slack, judging from my occasional visits to Sin City.
