When did Coldiron get hurt?

Exciting game tonight by two quality freshmen teams. I would agree with some of the comments from above. #34 Jake Sherron is a nice back with good speed & cutting ability. Tyler Wagner is a quality player' date=' solid running back with good speed & strength (scored first touchdown tonight), excellent hands as a receiver, & a good cover corner. Dylan Doverspike is a sufficient fullback (scored second t.d.), a very solid linebacker (hit one kid so hard his helmet came off & had an interception), & an excellent punter/kicker for a freshman. Extra points are automatic & helps BW gain good field advantage over opponents. For Cov Cath, McGinnis is a good athlete. He has good speed, strength, and is a capable fill in at QB for Coldiron. #2 is also a solid backup QB with a nice passing touch & #89 is a quality receiver with length. Is Doverspike #49?

 

As Clyde said, Beechwood's line play was the difference in the game, especially the defensive line. Beechwood has a nice group of running backs - #34 Jake Sherron, #32 Tyler Wagner and #49 Doverspike. QB Clay Trusty had some key runs, including one that led to Beechwood's first TD.

 

It was an exciting game to see with two quality teams.

Out of curiosity, how many frosh are on each team?

 

I think Beechwood is right around 22 with 1 8th grader on the team.

Seems to be a great group of kids on both sides, excited about watching these two teams compete over the next few years.

I like Joe's style of coaching. Doesn't lose his mind. Straight forward with teaching vs just yelling.

What if Castleman was playing frosh? That is some serious talent from one class at Beechwood!!!

The only other frosh class I have watched at BW is the current senior class. Taking Castleman out of the equation since I've never seen him I did not see a kid who I would project to start varsity as a sophomore. I didn't see any of the "big 4" from the current senior class.

 

That's not a shot. That's probably normal at schools like BW. It's a nice frosh class that a few years down the road will be bigger, stronger, and faster and will be a tough out.

Last year senior class was better then this year class. Didn't have the big name. But Quality of depth of last year senior class hard to match.

I don't do a lot of football but I was surprised by the size of the crowd and the hitting from these younger men. Lots of fun.
