The only other frosh class I have watched at BW is the current senior class. Taking Castleman out of the equation since I've never seen him I did not see a kid who I would project to start varsity as a sophomore. I didn't see any of the "big 4" from the current senior class.

 

That's not a shot. That's probably normal at schools like BW. It's a nice frosh class that a few years down the road will be bigger, stronger, and faster and will be a tough out.

I would agree that this years BW freshmen team doesn't have any of the big 4, with the exception of Castleman. But I think there may be a couple of these freshmen lineman who might contribute to next years varsity. Two that come to mind are #65 Derry and #71 Baugh. Of course that is just speculation on my part.

Castleman must be good at a smaller school to not play Frosh ball. I think Slusher and Stringer played 9th grade ball. Larger schools like CCH occasionally will move kids right to Varsity like Kam Butler last year.

Wow, I completely missed this one. Great job Frosh Tigers, I know this was the big test. For some reason I thought it was this week, dang it. Oh well.

These are great pictures of the game, thank you for sharing. Looking at the helmets made me wonder (yes, I am a big fan of Robert Plant) if it is a "right of passage" to have the helmet decal for BW an CCH applied after you move beyond Freshman ball? Do you need to earn your stripes?....... and in the case of BW, pun intended.

From my understanding, yes, getting the tiger paw is a right of passage. Kind of cool to hold on to old traditions.
