Shhh, FBD. Don't let all those pesky facts get in the way of the talking points.

Don't you guys know they get all their guns from states without gun control and come back and kill everyone.

Nevermind the fact in areas with less control they don't see the same amount of violence.

The most common excuse always cracks me up.

Please continue your glee in discussing how the gun control laws in Chicago don't work. Laws that are stuck down generally don't have much of an effect, since, you know, they are struck down.

So, you are telling me that Chicago does not have very strict gun control laws? I beg to differ.

In comparison, their gun laws are quite strict. As you can see by the statistics, they aren't working.

Feel free to continue with your talking points, however.

Again, it's not the gun that's the problem, it's the person using the gun. A gun will lay there all day and never move until a person picks it up. True or False?

Why would you leave a gun laying around? Who is the person that picks it up? A toddler that happens to walk by? Where do you leave your gun laying around? I mean, I am not a gun-worshiper, but I heard where leaving them laying around all day is not a good idea.

Here is a story about a toddler who picked up a gun that was "laying around" and shot another toddler to death with it. You should contact these people and try your logic out on them. Your brilliant piece of logic would probably help them through the grieving process.

People are dying, sensible gun policies would help, clinging to the guns with ridiculous arguments won't.

You don't have to beg. Just look up the laws, the ones that have not been struck down, and post a link. While you are looking up the "very strict" gun laws, give us the dates the laws were enacted, and their statutory number. Links would be nice, so they can be verified.

Geez. You can't understand a simple comment can you

You completely ignore the point of the post. Here, I'll simplify it even further for you. The gun isn't the problem, it's the person that used the gun to commit the crime that is the problem.

Now, even you should be able to understand the point.

So the three year old toddler is the problem? I see the problem as the tragic and unnecessary death of a child. Be careful, your priorities are showing.

Mayfield is a very educated person but chooses to ignore the fact that an inanimate object is useless without an operator.

I can't speak for capt, but I have no problem showing my priorities.

The 3 year old is not the problem. The person who left the firearm in a place where the toddler could get at it is, not the firearm. That same person could have left a lit candle where the toddler could have knocked it over, burnt the whole house down, and with the same tragic result.

Please. Stop with the NRA cliches. Lit candles aren't the same as devices that dispense lead. Neither are steak knives. Neither are motor vehicles (which, by the way, are much more regulated than firearms.)

Please tell me how they are different? A candle won't burn a house down unless knocked over by the toddler, same as a car won't start up and run someone over, and a gun wont shoot someone on its own. If people don't realize these objects are not dangerous on their own no education in the world can help, and no a gun is not more dangerous than a steak knife a car, fire or anything else in the wrong persons hands.
