Bluegrasspreps' Class 2A Rankings 9-21-15

Care to expound on your statement?

Lit Ratings are an absolute joke, especially this early in the season. Even the most ardent of Lit Ratings supporters admit that until November they are probably the most flawed computer rating system until the end of the regular season when it finally has enough data to begin correcting itself.

Any argument using a computer ranking has to be taken with an asterisk and used solely for hypothetical scenarios, but this early in the year the only one that typically has some level of credibility is the Calpreps/Massey.

Per Calpreps, FWIW:

McCracken County #15

Mayfield #17

DeSales #21

Paducah Tilghman #32

Ballard #54

Graves County #66

Corbin #79

Calpreps agrees with every part of your statements but you get a more reputable rating system that people wouldn't roll their eyes at

Thanks. Where is Fern Creek in their ratings?

So, based on all of this info, how does BGP have DeSales ahead of Mayfield in the 2A poll?

Mayfield won't have Bright for a good amount of time. When you lose possibly the best player in the entire class that hurts.

You don't know that.

You don't know that.

Which part?

Enlighten us all if he plans to be back sooner rather than later

I've heard no more than 2-3 weeks out on the Bright injury, which means he'd be back for the Ballard or Webster game, which they may sit him an extra week or 2 as Ballard nor Webster would give the JV team much of a game this year.

I don't see Bright returning for a good long while. Just my opinion though and I do want to point out that I have not recently slept at a Holiday INN

By that same token though:

-Danville had a running lock on them against Boyle, has anyone had a running clock on them?

- CAL gave up 28 points or more in both their losses, DeSales only gave up 14

- Mayfield gave up 31 points in regulation in their loss to a team who was unranked

It's easy to spin stats however one wishes to make their argument

At the end of the day Mayfield and DeSales are a toss-up...but Mayfield's superstar RB is out for a long period of time

You can debate these rankings all day. Danville did have a running clock put on them by Boyle Co., but they are not the only team BC has done this to, and sure won't be the last. I have more than voiced my opinion on how good Boyle is, take it or leave it I don't care. What I really care about is where Danville is at the end of the season.

I think it's fascinating that people care so much about unofficial polls in Week 5. It will work itself out!
