CAL is not under the radar for desales. They are very much in our focus.

Agree...we are not overlooking CAL at all. Everyone else is however....good point ATLcat

I agree with both for Monroe. They can't just get by some of these games. They need to dig in and win big to be looked at. The talent seems to be there they just can't seem to find a good rhythm. They did take there penalties from an average of 100 Yards a game to 10 against FS, but now seem to have a turnover problem!!!!

For weeks now.. you guys have been talking about the same 3 teams essentially . There is one on that list that has been playing really good football and they are sitting at number 5.

You're right, Danville is playing well. Tell us where you think the belong.

Mayfield is # 1. Just pummeled the 2014 5A state champ runner up this weekend (granted a different team that 2014 but..........) Desales puts up no points and keeps #1 ? making the comparison on losses now...Last weekend.......Mayfield takes 6A to OT on a ranked team..DeSales scores no points on a ranked 5A team....its not rocket science.

I think it should be

Mayfield

DeSales

CAL

Danville

Owensboro Catholic

And I don't believe the gap between 3 and 4 is much.

Agreed truecard, fully expected Mayfield to rightly retake the number one slot this week. Not so sure DeSales shouldn't drop to 3 or 4...don't think that CAL or Danville have been shut out this year, have they?

I will believe Danville deserves to be in the top 3 when I see it. It is insane to think Desales is not in the top 2 in 2A. We aren't two time defending state champions for nothing.

As many have stated before, the past is the past. Weren't there some comments about lack of effort by DeSales against Fern Creek and them needing to find themselves? I don't believe CAL or Danville have been shutout and don't recall anyone questioning their effort. Not saying DeSales won't be in the mix at the end of the season but right now you can't have it both ways...

By that same token though:

-Danville had a running lock on them against Boyle, has anyone had a running clock on them?

- CAL gave up 28 points or more in both their losses, DeSales only gave up 14

- Mayfield gave up 31 points in regulation in their loss to a team who was unranked

It's easy to spin stats however one wishes to make their argument

At the end of the day Mayfield and DeSales are a toss-up...but Mayfield's superstar RB is out for a long period of time

I have been watching CAL from afar and a lot more recently, I have very recently come to think that they might should be #1 at the moment. This poll and the public opinion maybe selling them short and if ask today I think they would be the team that advances out of that region.

Props to my Cards, they lost their MVP on the first series of the game against arch rival Graves and then preceded to maul their bigger crosstown neighbors handing them their 2nd worst loss ever in the annual series with MF. Well done Cards!

I was the one questioning their effort and saying those things. But I still believe they are a top 2 team and would probably be able to handle a team that had a running clock put on them with ease.

This is brilliant.

Well played! Of course the sky isn't falling on the Ads, Cards, Colts or Centurions but these are weekly rankings and should reflect who is playing the best at the moment grounded in the demonstrated performance in the previous weeks. Particularly impressed with the Mayfield performance after losing their two way starter early in the game.
