Comparing Mayfield & DeSales: 4 Games In

Featured Replies

lol, just to clarify. We beat Butler 49 - 13. I couldn't tell you the last time someone scored 31 pts on us. Maybe if you added all the scores up last year? lol

And for the war memorial comment. I promise you this. We'll bring as many fans there as you guys will have. You have no idea. We are road warriors. We don't have a home field.

You better start worrying about your lines. If they were indeed getting shoved around by McCraken, then you guys will be in a world of hurt against DeSales.

Barring injuries, our line should be just fine come Thanksgiving. My question to you; how do you block someone you can't touch? What will you do if our lineman are 3 yards into your backfield before your lineman can move?

Complain to the ref because they are obviously wizards.

Is the DeSales QB the best in Louisville right now?

I'd give that honor to Male's QB.

I think Desales is a clear #1 and Mayfield is a clear #2 , however, it wouldn't surprise me to see CAL vs OB Catholic or Murray in the semi's. In a one game and go home scenario, their are teams in both of their paths more than capable of pulling off an upset.

DeSales deserves the # 1, lot of people putting the cart before the horse tho, these two may never meet this year.

Reading this thread makes me think Desales could possibly be the best team in the state overall. Heck, if our softies get lucky enough to make it to the semis, I hope there is plenty of ambulances on standby!

All in good fun Colt people......

I am a paramedic so I will assist both teams. I hear you guys have a lot of rowdy friends so my police officer friend is coming with me to keep me straight.

Our fans are not rowdy. If you walk in at the bottom of the stadium there will be tail gating. Most of them will offer you food and drink. Hope you have a good time if we both make it that far.

DeSales and Mayfield are clearly the 2 best teams in 2a but there's definitely no guarantee both teams will be there. We see these kind of upsets happen every every. As for playing at Mayfield, I don't doubt you all bring a rowdy crowd, but I can promise you we will bring the best road crowd of the year coming from 4 hours away IF we both made it there. However, I will be rooting for Mayfield during the regional playoffs because I REALLY want to see this matchup happen

Definitely not. He's a solid qb but we're very balanced. Best punter in Louisville? Hands down.

I hope Austin never gets to punt in a game.....it means were moving the ball to opponents side of the field...But if we need to, like knowing he's back there.

Man...reading some of these DeSales posts makes me harken back to a particular Bible passage that those Catholic brethren should be pretty familiar with, yet seem to be forgetting all together:

"And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."

Find it funny that when other schools beat their chest it's a non issue. I'm very proud of my colts and our success the past two seasons and feel very strongly that it will continue on.

You (DeSales) are the new kid on the block. Take it as a compliment. At least people are talking about DeSales now.

I've looked at your schedule the last couple of years, and that watered down version of 2A; color me not impressed. CAL has your number, especially in the regular season. Murray made huge strides last year compared to 2013. Caldwell Co. got overconfident 2 straight years. We waxed Murray and Caldwell. Welcome to the big leagues!

I probably give the advantage to Desales on pure numbers alone. They have a published roster of 64 players excluding freshman. I suspect that have at least 15 or 20 freshman. Mayfield lists its roster at 53 including freshman. I doubt there are any 2A teams in this state that can put 85-90 players on the sideline. That is huge advantage. Desales has done a wonderful job in getting kids to come there to play football. My vote goes to Desales.
