I think we are playing semantics here. Since we are in the conversation here: You thought Trinity would beat Male. You knew Trinity has already beaten two National Ranked teams. And, we can extrapolate some information here, if you knew Trinity had beaten two Nationally ranked teams, and the next best team in the state, Male, who else do you think in the state of Kentucky would beat Trinity?

 

Possibly, but I consider there to be an important difference between those statements. The first says 'I think it is likely we win this game', allowing the possibility of another outcome. The second says 'we will every game this year' without considering any possibility of losing.

 

The first is just being confident in your team; the second smacks of arrogance. Thus why I pointed out that few (maybe zero) Trinity fans made the second statement.

Scott Co. has given up 94 points, 31 to Pulaski Co. Defending State 5A champs, 28 to Highlands who always as powerful offense and 35 to Cincinnati Elder who is always ranked in the nation. Trinity has given up 69 points, 13 to Brentwood another team always ranked in the nation, 14 to Lafeyette ranked in the top's in the state and 42 to Male (now that one shocked me, score that is). SK has given up 66 points and if my calculations are right that is only 3 points less than Trinity. SK has a good Team but don't think that make their Defense better than Trinity's. I would put SK ahead of Scott Co. but not Trinity.

 

 

The 14 against Lafayette were not given up by the defense either, they were both Special Teams TDs.

I think we should see how district play goes for Male. They were the better team that night, but they were also probably very keyed up after how their season ended last year. The challenge is keeping that focus all season. That said, I'll be shocked if they lose between now and the playoffs.

#1 Male vs #4 JTOWN / #2 Ballard vs #3 Manual

 

#1 Trinity vs #4 PRP / #2 St X vs #3 Eastern

 

In my opinion, X and Manual could be flip flopped in the 2 or 3 spot depending on regular season outcome and the same thing with maybe Ballard and Eastern. The 2 and 3 spots in both districts might be very interchangeable by the end of the year. Can't leave a 4-0 PRP out of the discussion either. Do they have a chance to move into a 2 or 3 spot? Will find out about this team when they play the Rocks on Friday.

A little thought, I read that Highlands scored the 28 against Scott Co. Vs their JV. Now Elder is better than any team SK has or will play. I say it ia Ryle or SK from the north but Ryle was tied with highlands last week so who knows. No doubt 1 and 2 are Male and Trinity. Rankings don't matter it will be who is good enough to come from the East and make it a game in December against either one
