Bell and Corbin are district 8 and Breathitts district is 7.

Truth be told don't think it will matter. Don't see any other option except for Bell vs. Corbin in that Regional Final

Me either the only thing is that District 7 host this year is all.

Another question, other than Belfry, who are the other legitimate contenders in districts 5-8?

There is not one besides Belfry. Someone could upset Belfry along the way, but even if that happens, I can't see anyone else from the east bracket that can win it all.

In my poll Belfry is #1 until Boyle can prove they can beat Lexington Catholic. I'd have Bell County and Corbin switched.

Central has me puzzled as to how they beat St. X and manage to lose to Knox Central? St. X with easy wins over Bowling Green and Henry Clay. :wacky:

Does anybody know who gets the home games for the playoffs?

If Boyle doesn't beat LexCath this year we are sending Chuck Smith back to Madison Central.

Region 1 (Tilghman, Caldwell, Etown, etc) Hosts Region 2 (Boyle, Central, LexCath)

Wow the West is LOADED!:eek::scared:

It's going to be a crazy competitive playoff season!

My opinion on PT. They will handle Caldwell. They have a signature win against McCracken. I really cant explain the Mayfield loss. By all accounts this bunch has never beat them. In ten years so I think it could have been a mindset thing. The team that played that night was not the same team that has shown up the other 3 games they have played. I think they can handle Lex Cath but not Boyle. PT seems to be dominate against spread teams(except Mayfield). It just seems to matchup better for them.

That has seemed to be the case most years, Belfry has a great program, but it seems to have the smoothest road to the title game. With Boyle, Lex Cath, Central, PT, and possibly this year Caldwell in the west, their will be many state-title worthy games possibly 1-2 rounds out from the title game.

This is actually a misnomer.

Last year Belfry had a cakewalk... no arguing that here.

But when you look at their other years:

2013:

Defeated #2 14-0 Wayne County (Finals)

Defeated #3 13-0 Bourbon County (Semis)

2012:

Lost to #1 12-2 Central (Finals)

Defeated #4 13-0 Bourbon County (Semis)

Defeated #3 12-0 Breathitt County (Regional)

2011

Lost to #1 11-3 Central (Finals)

Defeated #5 11-2 Garrard Co (Semis)

Defeated #3 12-0 Breathitt County (Regionals)

2010

Lost to #3 8-6 Central (Finals)

Defeated #1 13-0 Somerset (Semi's)

Defeated #4 10-1 Mason County (2nd Round)

2007

Lost to #5 9-5 Central (Finals)

Defeated #2 13-0 Breathitt County (Semis)

Defeated #8 8-4 Somerset (Regionals)

Defeated #9 9-2 Sheldon Clark (Round 2)

As you can see...with the exception of last year's cake walk Belfry has had to prove themselves with their playoff path and beat some very good and undefeated teams. I would even say Belfry had the hardest path in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

I will freely admit last year was as easy of a path as you will find..but Belfry also proved themselves to clearly be the best team.

This year the path doesn't look overly tough as well.

If Boyle doesn't beat LexCath this year we are sending Chuck Smith back to Madison Central.

Odd Year, Odd Hosts

Obviously seeding Supreme in Rounds 1-3, but if the seeds are the same:

District 1 (Tilghman/Caldwell) Hosts District 2 (Etown, Adair)

District 3 (Central) Hosts District 4 (Boyle/LexCatj)

District 5 (Russell) Hosts District 6 (Belfry/Lawrence)

District 7 (Bell/Corbin) Hosts District 8 (Breathitt)

In the Semi's (Seed Doesn't Matter)

Region 1 (Tilghman, Caldwell, Etown, etc) Hosts Region 2 (Boyle, Central, LexCath)

Region 3 (Belfry, Lawrence, Russell) Hosts Region 4 (Corbin, Bell)

If Boyle wins their District

Home vs. 4 Seed from Central's District

Home vs. Garrard/Bardstown Winner

@ Central or Home vs. LexCath

@ Winner of Region 1

Thanks for the info.

I will have to disagree with you here. Belfry typically has a easy route to the finals, and you make it a one game season and anyone can win. For Example: you pointed out the 2012 season that Belfry lost to Central (who had a much tougher way to get their by comparing schedules). Belfry beat two teams that were undefeated to get to the title game, but were they really all that or just played soft schedules? The combined win/loss records of the teams they played in 2012 was 118-170 (58-84 and 60-86). 10 of their combined 25 opponnents ended with plus 500 records (3 of those were in 2A or 1A). Now we are down to 7 teams they played that season with winning records in 3A or higher classes (one of these was 5A).
