I agree. I was just responding to the post I quoted where the poster suggested Eviston had Rash's number. The facts are Rash has a winning record over Eviston.

Grant Lang has been playing center with Rowe up. No idea if that changes when Rowe comes back. Grant has done a fine job.

Actually, Coach Rash has a winning record over Eviston at 2-1. So the bigger question is does Rash have Eviston's number?

Are you sure about that VOR, I seem to remember BW loosing at Newcath in 2012, and blowing a 21 point lead at BW in 2013, both of them coached by Eviston. I thought Eviston was only at the helm 2 years. I could be wrong.

Eviston was at NCC 3 years. Beechwood beat him in the overtime game in 2010 over a team many NCC fans think is one of their best ever. Beechwood also won in 2011 and then Eviston finally got the win over Rash in 2012.

Obviously I had Eviston in the wrong period.....So much for my "has his number" theory. Thanks for the clarification

Everyone is right to focus their attention on the line play. That will be the key to the game. Last year Beechwood dominated at the line and that is why they beat Cov Cath. For Beechwood to win this game, the offensive line needs to make the running game effective. They also need Fieger to get some yards running the ball. He is a good runner when he chooses to run the ball. Beechwood needs those running plays from him to win this game.

I find it funny that there is not one single post about "Should this game be played" or "This has become Men vs Boys" What a difference a season makes! LOVE IT!

I very rarely make a prediction, but after watching BW play Friday Night. I can't imagine the Cov Cath I have read about having a chance. I don't see BW looking past or thinking its going to be easy, but I expect a 2 TD win for the Tigers. 3 Reasons.

3. Beechwood line Play. (They blew me away when facing a very strong Ironton Front)

Cov Cath by 7, Beechwood's O and D lines are there weakness, and Cov. Cath will exploit them.

 

What games have you watched? I did not see a weakness agains Ironton and I'm guessing Ironton's line is bigger, stronger and better than the Colonels.

 

This is coming from someone who would have agreed with you in the pre-season, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Line play on Friday night. Wasn't perfect, but definitely stood their ground against the Ironton boys.

 

If the line does struggle a little more, then you could be right, but then again, I also like what I saw from Feiger. Scrambled better and more confidently.

 

I guess we shall see.

As Beech bum stated Oline....those are the same Dline with Overstreet and Hermes at tackles with Sherron, Benson at ends with Rowe (when healthly), Campbell and Lang rotating in on different sets. Everett also plays end.

I think the Ryle loss actually makes CovCath look a little better now that it is established that Ryle is a solid team. Throw out the Cincy St. X disaster. The Sycamore loss and LexCath loss shows a team with a way to go. Beechwood has a couple of nice wins over Ironton and Somerset who are usually solid and a win over Lloyd who is decent so they might be the better team and they are at home but we really do not have any good comparison scores. This will be Beechwood's first venture into the larger classes and CovCath first into the smaller classes. I think it may be a fairly competitive game but that is just a guess.

That is a very fair assessment, I agree with your post. This is going to be a very competitive game.
