Why Won't Colin Powell Run for President?

Featured Replies

Why he wont run. Because he is smart.

I would have voted for him too.

His "emails" that he sent off of a secure server would come back to haunt him.

Oh wait! He says they all are gone. ;)

I would say he thinks he is too old

Pretty cool chart on age here:

Bernie Sanders Hillary Clinton: Presidential Age Chart

Powell will be 10 years older than the oldest POTUS at time of election. His time has passed...

As an aside, the two leading Democrat candidates would be the oldest (Sanders) or 2nd oldest (Clinton) POTUS at time of election if they should win.

I remember a huge debate over Reagan's age when he ran but most didn't agree. :thumb:

I could still vote for Powell. He had his chance though when he was being thrown out as a test vs Bush in 2000 but if I recall many of the talking heads threw him down the stairs in favor of W.

Guess I didn't realize Powell was that old.

He makes more money on his speaking tour than he would as the Prez!

Powell is not too old but he is too smart.

I didn't realize Colin Powell was close to 80. I've always felt he would make an interesting candidate.

He looks good doesn't he? I hope I look like that when I am in my upper 70s.

You will Mr. Ironman. I'll look like Sammy Davis, Jr. Or as @Randy Parker would say... #oldfatJason
