Be patient, you all have a very good coach. It will take some time. 2-3 years away, many in Park Hills and other places will be happy.

Coaching is definitely not the problem. I'm worried about the culture of the school.

Serious question. Where would Saint X and Sycamore stack up against Kentucky 5a competition?

What do you think the score would have been had this Sycamore or X team played the 2006 CovCath team?

These games have no bearing on the season at all. We haven't even played a district game yet... And let's not forget, the district still looks very winnable.

I think the 06' Colonels would have at least put up 20-25+ points against Saint X or made it close and may have beaten Sycamore (I would predict 24-17 CCH) But I get your point. They got crushed by ridiculous teams. They aren't bad. They are slightly above average to put it in perspective. But they are also far below average when observing past Cov Cath teams. We just expect alot out of CovCath and maybe that's a good thing. I hope that CCH gets on track and starts dominating.

Cov Cath is not that bad. NKY teams need to stop scheduling big Cincinnati schools period. Sycamore being one of the smaller big schools typically graduates 600 a year. Mason & Lakota are up over 800-900 per graduating class. Cov Cath will be fine against teams in their class if they can survive the injuries.

I didn't even mention myself in high school. I was talking about the players and the way they played last year and the years before. It seemed like they had alot more pride last year. But I can understand not having pride when you're getting beaten so badly. But I think everyone would agree that they aren't as spirited as before.

They have the same pride. It's just a little different when you look at their opponents early last year co

pard to who they played this year. Total different schedule.

I'm just waiting for someone to chime in to say how stupid it was for CCH to love up to 5A lol

I would have to disagree. I think you don't realize how good St X really is this year. I don't think even the 06 team would score that much on them.

Thank you. Let's be real. CovCath got spanked by X 24-3 and 38-13 against Waterson in 06. Let's stop acting like this CovCath team is underachieving.

Saint X 06' would blowout this years Saint X. Waterson, I have no idea of the story on them. They were extremely good though. I think 06' CovCath would prabably beat Sycamore. 15' Saint X though, it would probably a lower scoring game like 38-10. Their defense would have done a much better job that's for sure. Look, I don't expect that much out of CCH this year, but I do expect them to put up at least 10 points and play better defense. I expect a blowout but at least make it a 35-0 blowout rather than a 57-7 blowout. Just play defense. I don't think their underachieving or not playing their best. I just don't think they're ready yet. But they will be soon. I'm confident of that. How soon? Could be next season or next game. They just have to be trained and ready.

So just so everyone is clear about the absurdity of this ridiculous thread...

CovCath was a silly mistake away from beating Ryle, whom everyone is readily placing as the number 2 team in nky.

Perspective.

Pride and spirit don't beat teams you have no business playing nor do they beat D1 players when you have maybe 1 on your roster.

Not sure what spirit you are talking about from previous years. That was one of the things that everyone said was lacking under the previous staff.

It's early. When this coach was at NCC he used to get beat early against tough competition and at playoff time they were ready. Not saying this team is going to win state but they will get better as they go and into the next few years.

Pride won't win against far superior opponents, but It would produce more than 10 yards of offense in 2 games. It would help tremendously with their poor tackling.

"Spirit" and several other components were lacking within the program under the last regime. The problem is, that culture and mindset is still kinda present. It will take some time to flush that from the system. I think the colonels will be fine, I just hope they can right the ship this season.

Speak for Covcath. Don't speak for Highlands. They should schedule big Ohio schools in years where they have top talent. The Elder Highlands series has been great games every year. Highlands has beaten Elder, Cincy X, and has had good competitive games with Colerain and Moeller. In years when there's high talent, those games are much better to play than drilling Covcath and Ryle by 50+. I don't believe it's any coincidence those schools aren't on Highlands schedule this year. It's also no coincidence either that more N.Ky. Schools agreed to play them.

The mind set while take time. The schedule this year isn't going to help the mindset either. The last game being Scott Co. is also going to present a mental challenge heading into the playoffs. That's also potentially a rough night.
