Yes and no. You can't just transfer willy nilly even if you live in the Kenton County School district. First, there must be space available in the school your hoping to open enroll into. Second, there are several academic, attendance, and behavior standards that must be met, meaning you may not be approved. And third, if at any time, you fall below any of those standards, you can be politely asked to leave and go back to the school you are supposed to be enrolled at according to district boundaries. My experience is that over the last several years, I've seen more kids get denied open enrollment, and it's far from a sure thing that you'll get to go to your "school of choice".

Yes, even Freshman have to "apply" to go to a different Kenton County School than the one they are assigned by district boundaries. I know of more than a few kids that got denied going into their freshman year. Is it possible?? Yes, and you are correct in saying it's more flexible than Boone County. But it has become far from a sure thing, and seems to be getting tougher every year.

Every thread all you say is blah blah blah blah blah. Cooper, Conner, and Boone are in 6A get over it man. Would THIS YEAR have been better for Cooper or Conner? Probably. Over the next 4 years would it have mattered? Not at all. I don't know if you realize this, but either team would have a VERY difficult time winning state in either class, and high school football is not solely based on winning a state championship. It is about teaching kids life lessons, preparing them to become men. Those are the real blessings in high school football. I bet you can't tell me all of the teams that won state in 2011 without looking it up. All I am saying is there is more to this game than winning state, which ultimately everyone forgets about in two years besides the people on that team. Quit beating a dead horse and move on.
