Disappointed over the lack of respect shown to one Johnny "Dangerously" Kelly.

In reality, while not known to the public, the most notorious of all is probably the guy who remained completely under the radar. I don't know who that would be....because he's never been outted.

This is a very interesting topic, and ashamedly, I am not very well informed. However, I agree with Rockmom, and I believe their is a hidden confession in her post. So Rockmom is my answer.

What about Moe Greene, he built Las Vegas, you don't mess with a man like Moe Green.

While Gambino was probably one of the most successful at running a family and staying out of prison, he didn't seem "showy" and "flamboyant" enough to call notorious, more like sly and conning. There was on boss Gambino discussed executing with the commission due to how showing this boss was and bringing too much attention to the mafia.

My guess is the winner will be Capone or Gotti.

 

I voted for Capone, but it's probably the most uninformed vote I've ever made in my life.

I voted Johnny ‘Papa Johnny’ Torrio, due to his huge influence on Capone.

Salvatore "Toto" Riina and Charles "Lucky" Luciano are probably the two most notorious bosses ever.

 

Not a lot of people here know who Riina is because he stayed in Sicily most of the time, but he had a huge influence on the mafia here.
