SportsGuy41017
I'm a little uneasy about the timing of the accident. Call came at 2:56. It was around Highland and Reeves going down towards 3L. Highland Pike will be closed into the evening as the reconstruct the accident. nkuclubbaseball19
Any death is tragic but based on the timing of it, I do feel even more uneasy as well.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
I'm sick to my stomach hearing this. All three of my brothers and their families live within a half mile of there, and all travel that stretch REGULARLY. Lots of prayers going up for the victims and their families. SportsGuy41017
I am hearing that an elderly person who may have had a health related issue crossed the yellow line and stuck a car with 3 people inside coming down the hill.

OlDog75
I'm VERY familiar with this stretch. The speed limit is 45mph, some folks will do 60, and I have seen Fort Wright officers run radar many times but as SportsGuy41017 posted, apparently a medical emergency caused this tragedy. Got a text from my daughter is why I just heard about it because she knows I drive that stretch every day. Prayers for all lost souls and anyone who may have survived. SportsGuy41017
It's very easy to go from 35-40 MPH at the top near that bend, and if you coast without hitting the brake many times you will easily do 60 by time you get just past Reeves. Colonels_Wear_Blue
Per WLWT: Police on the scene told WLWT a car was traveling eastbound and as it was travelled down a hill and around a curve, the car got too far to the right side and hit the guardrail. Police said the car continued along the guardrail for a bit, then veered left and hit the other vehicle head-on.
SportsGuy41017
All 4 were from Kenton county, I heard that they may be from or very near the Fort Wright area.

The vehicle struck by the other car, which had been driving erratically and crossed the center line, had two female passengers. All involved individuals have died, and all were "adults", per Ft. NEERFAN
I am hearing that an elderly person who may have had a health related issue crossed the yellow line and stuck a car with 3 people inside coming down the hill. I often think about this when I'm traveling around that stretch of Highland.
SportsGuy41017
^ As you and others who drive that stretch know, it's very easy to gain a lot of speed just coasting. The accident was about 75 yards uphill from Reeves Drive. From the marks from the accident and the reconstruction paint, it looks like the car going up hill was in the right lane of the two up hill lanes. The first thing that I and others thought when we heard of the accident was the timing. The 911 call came in at 2:58 PM, Cov Cath dismisses at 2:45 PM, and I am sure that Notre Dame gets out about the same time.
