worried about is will they run him into the ground? I mean for a player that has been hurt the last 2 years, getting 40 carries last game is a little extreme. If they keep that up he may not make it to district games.

 

Racke ran the ball 17 times 135 yards 1 td. and Hampton ran the ball 14 times for 84 yards 2 tds. Powell didn't play much in the 3rd quarter.

I agree, you almost treat his number of touches a game like a pitchers pitch count. Can't help out nearly as much from the sidelines.

Granted the small sample of SK passing game was not very impressive. The flaw I see is that your wide outs are not threating so Powell is the bell cow

I think we heard that logic before the title game last year.

Another coach's dream for SK. A nice win against and good and dangerous oponent and plenty of mistakes to correct in films. This team is not close to their potential yet. This team needs to learn to put teams away when they have a chance. Week 1 up two scores with the ball and they let CAL back in it. CAL even took the lead briefly. Week 2 up 18 points with the ball in Station territory and they let a score slip away. Station scores twice and get right back into the game. A few penalties and some conservative play calling killed the drive that could have put them up 25.

So I'm watching Dillon Powells hudl highlight and one glowing trait comes to mind. SK o-line is very solid, gets good push, and not to take anything away from Dillon because I'm a fan and he's a great kid..... but I think sk1fan could have got a 100 yards rushing againstBryan Station on Friday if giving 40 attempts.

 

I'm not going to drink the neer kool aid until after their game with Cooper if they win big, however, SKs o-line if they stay healthy and continue to progress could enable a deep sk playoff run. The Raiders and Jags are very substantial obstacles. Going to be a lot of fun to watch NKY 6A battle it out in the coming weeks!

The best part is SK starts 2 Sophomores on the oline and a couple other Sophomores come off the bench. Alot of depth on the oline this year.

Everyone knows including UKFAN that in the state playoffs you need to run and pass to compete. I mean heck look at what DIXIE did last year was one dimensional and got NOWHERE in state championship. I can date back to Boone Co. with shaun alexander, and the owen hauck days. YOU WILL NOT WIN A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP UNLESS YOU CAN RUN AND PASS!!!!!!

I watched the hudl of Dillon and he looks strong and fast. Looking forward to seeing him live in the coming weeks!

SK usually pass/run 50/50. But against Station the holes where there and Station couldn't stop the run game.

That is SK's secret weapon if you ask me. We all know they can run with Powell and co. but never underestimate Racke. He showed last year he is as capable of a QB that you will see in NKY. The passing wont' be a problem for SK if they need to go that route. I just thnnk if they are forced to go to the air the question mark is will they be successful or not.
