First, congratulations to the Scott Eagles. They played very well last night and have a good football team. I was impressed with the size they have on the line. While last night wasn't a good game to judge them (the Eagle line) on as the Dixie line is still young and inexperienced, I can see them pushing around a lot of other teams.

 

Now, this Dixie team is vastly different from last year's team (as many knew would be the case). The line needs to do a better job holding their blocks and picking up assignments. Faeth had pressure in his face every time he received the ball. Not much the young man could do. And the same goes for the RBs. They had very little time or space to do anything. Some decent runs but not too many. The identity of this team cannot be the same as last year's team. The personnel do not match the scheme.

 

On defense, the team missed way too many assignments and tackles. There was occasional pressure on Scott but not near enough.

 

All in all, while the score was not expected, the result could be seen beforehand. This Dixie team has to get back to fundamentals to be competitive. The good news is, they have plenty of time to do so.

 

Scott has a very young line as well. They do have one senior , and One junior . the remainder I believe are sophmores . But I do agree , the issue Dixie had was upfront with Scott . There is plenty of weeks for both these teams to improve and move on .

Scott played a great game and I give credit to both teams. All these kids played hard. This was the first time since 1987 Scott beat Dixie, so as an Eagle fan - I'm pumped and can't wait to see how much talent this eagle team has this year!

Dixie lost a ton of college football players from last years team, and the remainder of scott's sch. is awful. scott will lose to both Conner and SK. Let's not keep pounding our chest scott fan's just because scott is no longer the laughing stock of NKY football, but is still a long way away from being able to beat teams like Ryle, Copper, SK, Cov. Cath. and Highlands. Actually that is how stats work. You can look at them any way you'd like. You can look at all 16 carries and the yardage and be deceived about how successful he was, or you can do what Clyde did and realize that other than one big run (which was very nice), his stats aren't anything special.

Who cares about last year, or the year before, all I know is scott's sch. is awful, and SK will beat them to death, with a running clock at some point. I understand scott has been down for years, but let's not get carried away, now that they have beat two sub. 500 teams. When scott steps up and beats a SK, Highlands, COV. Cath, or Ryle then they can start beating there chest, until then congrats on winning games against non-top 10 teams in NKY this year.
