That's you. That ain't me. I've never been a fan of trying to compare out of state teams to KY teams. It never fails, every school who plays an out of state team ALWAYS plays one of the top teams from that state. Then we go to the nationally known website and it shows that those teams from out of state are indeed one of the top teams from that state. Then we look at the KY state rankings from that same website and they have stuff like Central Hardin ranked #8 overall and Boyle County not even ranked.

 

But I'm supposed to believe that website got it all right? Okay. Sure.

First of all I have no clue where this "unranked" business is coming from?

 

The Calpreps site literally ranks every single team. Even Jenkins and Phelps have a ranking.

 

I have no clue where Boyle started or Central Hardi but it currently has them at #1 7 and Central Hardin at #1 8

Two human polls... and don't play this "every out of state team is the best card".. look back at Belfry vs. Gallia Academy OH and see if we even eluded to them being something more than a generic team.

 

And don't pull this facetious "Belfry is great... Belfry's plays the toughest schedule" line. Every statement I have made and Tusi has made we have backed up with some type of factual information and NOT ONCE did either of us proclaim anything about Belfry being the end all be all. I would hope by this point both of us have earned a little more clout than that with the way we have tried to portray Belfry on this site in a very fair manner. Heck we even addressed the issues Belfry is having right now. We even both spoke about how it wouldn't surprise us if Belfry wasn't the best team in the State to start the season.

 

This all went sideways because you made the sweeping claim that Belfry's schedule was weak and also took a defensive stance that somehow Belfry was getting some kind of preferential treatment with their ranking. Have you noticed not once in this thread has anyone agreed that Belfry's schedule is weak? Have you noticed not once has myself or Tusi even stated we thought it was the best schedule of all(I specifically mentioned Tilghman as #1 )?

It's all good, 2C. I know I have flawed thinking and reasoning for a lot of the hardcore football folks on here. I can't help it. The same way you thought I was intentionally trying not to get your point is what I felt about the points I was trying to make. The smart aleck in me won't allow me to not take jabs once jabs start being thrown. Plus I love throwing jabs. Gets the blood pumping. This whole conversation is much easier in person. It hasn't really been discussed but I do think this weekend's Boyle/Bell game could give us a good indication of how far (or close) the distance is between the top 4 in 3A and the next 6-8 teams.

Bell, Corbin, Russell, Caldwell, Etown, Garrard, etc all seem to be packed into that next tier of teams who have potential but seem to have some glaring flaws to overcome.

I don't know how accurate my read is on Boyle County without truly knowing how good Central Hardin is yet. As of today I'm scared to predict a Boyle blow out against a quality team like Bell County. I just don't see an easy game for Boyle this weekend.
