September 10, 201511 yr Watched closely. He didn't make contact (other than maybe some flying spit). Votto / Reds got jobbed (not that it would have mattered) at the end of the TUE game as well. Foul tip on 3rd strike w/ 2 outs in the 9th which (upon replay) clearly hit the ground before bouncing into the C mitt. Home plate called him out, appealed to 3B and he agreed. To be fair, neither could have had a reasonable angle on it. Price's beef was that it should be replay reviewable and that rule needs to be changed. Umps agreed. As to last night, this WAS NOT the same thing as Harper earlier in the year being told to get in the box and dangling his toe in their to show up the ump. Votto wasn't happy with the 2nd strike (or a letter high strike call in the 1st inning), he said his piece without unnecessarily showing the ump up, asked for time and was not granted it. Said something else and then turned to the bench to say "I asked for time" and Welke tossed him. Votto exploded -- given the 1-2 count with runners on 1B & 2B and the Reds in the midst of a rally back from 5-1 down.
September 22, 201510 yr Author Hoover just gives up the tying run. Reds allow 1st run in STL in last thirty (yes, 30) innings.
September 23, 201510 yr Reds fans speak of how many starts in a row made by rookies, how should Philly fans feel that Harang is still starting every 5th day? Do they not have anyone they want to try out and see what they got?
September 28, 201510 yr 43... Closing in on Pete. and 35 games out, This Reds team is a complete pile of :deadhorse: :poop:
September 28, 201510 yr Despite giving all of their regulars the day off, the Mets completed the first season sweep by either team since New York started play in 1962, going 7-0 against Cincinnati. The Mets outscored the Reds 36-12 in these four games at Great American Ball Park and extended their franchise-record road winning streak to 11.
September 28, 201510 yr Jay Bruce had 13 HR and 42 RBIs in first half of season. Same numbers for 2nd half.
September 28, 201510 yr Jay Bruce had 13 HR and 42 RBIs in first half of season. Same numbers for 2nd half. What about his BA for both halves this and last year? Not being a smart aleck, but really like to know. It always seems like his stats significantly improve when the Reds are out of it. I'd be anxious to know what his September stats are over the last few years
