Watched it. Ehhhhhh...had enough entertaining parts I guess to hold my attention, but definitely wasn't side splitting funny. I watched more to see how thety were going to tie in aspects from the original movie, which I watched again before the series.

 

There is also a documentary that just came out about the making of the original move...Hurricane of Fun: The making of Wet Hot. It was probably as entertaining as the movie, in a different way.

No middle ground on this series, just like the film. People either love it or they hate it.

 

But I have to ask Guru, what would be the benefit of seeing something designed as a prequel related to an existing story without getting that story first?

 

Funny is funny. I get the context and the idea and most of the time I like that genre so I gave it a shot.

 

Not to mention the woman that came to my crib last night wanted to try that before we tried anything else. :bunny:

I watched two episodes. I thought it was a below average summer camp show. Probably won't watch any more.

I got that too and I went into wanting to laugh. And there were some laughs, just not enough to give my time to now that the NFL is on the tube.

I have two left, but I've been cracking up watching it. If you like the movie then this is just as good.

 

The backstory on Gene has been hilarious. And Paul Rudd is too funny.

Didn't see the original movie which probably explains why I thought it was terrible. And from looking at the reviews on Netflix my two star rating is in popular company.

It has just under 4 now.

 

I'm going to give it a try right now.

Michael Showalter and David Wain will write Ten Years Later, with Wain directing, and the sequel series will include eight all-new, 30-minute episodes. Executive producers include Showalter and Wain, plus Peter Principato, Jonathan Stern and Howard Bernstein.
