I'll try my hand. Though, everything from 15 down I am less than certain about.

1. Trinity

2. Male (very close, almost a tossup for first)

3. Highlands

4. Bowling Green

5. St. Xavier (hopefully better than expected, their games against 3 and 4 will tell)

6. Pulaski County

7. Ballard

8.Manual (could be better than Ballard, the coming season will decide)

9. Simon Kenton

10. Scott County

11. Belfry

12. Johnson Central

13. DeSales (whether they or Mayfield are better will likely be argued all season)

14. Mayfield

15. Central

16. Central Hardin

17. Lafayette

18. LexCath

19. McCracken County

20. John Hardin

21. Meade County

22. Ryle (it feels odd putting them so low, given that I expect them to be good)

23. Owensboro

24. Boyle County

25. Henry Clay

I would put CAL in the 15 spot as they are normally right there with DeSales. Flip a coin as to who is better. One question I have about Ballard is the QB spot. Keep hearing that is their biggest question coming into the season. Have lots of talent all around in the other areas. Any news on who is their QB this season? Are they going with a Wing T type offense or some type of spread offense?

For me, CovCath didn't finish as well as predicted last year and went through a coaching change. Just don't have a feel for them right now.

I can see where you might say that...but the way I see it, they got a coach who was already familiar with the school program and Cov Cath's competition, and who already has success in NKY and the state. Also, I think much of the way Cov Cath finished last year will be resolved with the new coach and new approach to things.

Anyway, all that aside, I'm not saying there's no chance that the likes of Mayfield, DeSales, Central, Belfry, and Johnson Central wouldn't potentially be able to hang a loss on Cov Cath (after all, Beechwood beat Cov Cath last year), but I don't see all 5 of those lower division schools beating Cov Cath. After all, Cov Cath did beat Johnson Central in the playoffs last season.

I'd be okay seeing Cov Cath in maybe an 18-25 spot when you put everything together, but in the least "homer" fashion as I can possibly say it, think it looks a bit suspect to not have Cov Cath anywhere in the top 25.

:sssh: ...will say I have been watching a lot of "Knute Rockne All-American" this off-season!

Why go 'old-school' when you can go 'old-old-old-OLD school!'
