Harry Doyle
I seems like about 75% of my facebook friends are on it, and selling it. :irked: One friend I am close to, who is very health savvy and is married to a pharmacist, has had good results and is very positive about the product. He is not selling it and has nothing to gain by promoting it, but yet he gives it very good reviews. I'm a fan. Same as your friend, I'm not really into the business opportunity. I'd love to be, but the actual network marketing/business side of it, you have to really work it. Which, I know several, both with Advocare and another company, Zija where a bunch of people like you, me and everybody else either have already retired from their career or will soon & all of them are 35-45 years old. I'd turned into a coffee addict, until the Advocare Spark....stuff is the deal.
woodsrider
Advocare, Zija, "insert any other multi-level marketing product" are all over priced and will give you no better or worse results than any other supplement on the market. The difference is you are over paying so your buddy hocking it on facebook can make his cut. At the end of the day there is really only 2 supplements on the market that have shown to actually work. Those are protein and creatine. Weight loss supplements 100% do not work, at least not if they are safe. And none work for long term weight loss. The energy / prework out supplements ALL have one thing common...caffeine. The rest is feel good / marketing filler. Their protein powder is $80 for 25 servings. Compare that to Optimum Nutrition at $58 for 70 servings. ON Gold Standard is one of the best protein powders on the market. Also look at their Arginine Extreme. This is just a BCAA product with a fancy name. And at $61.95 for 40 servings should be illegal. You can get 40 servings of just about any brand for well under $30.00. And if your taking protein powder you wasting your money on BCAA anyway. The protein powder, if a quality one, will have the BCAAs you need in it. Bottom line, if you are serious about taking supplements, do yourself and your wallet a favor. Keep it simple and do your research. Most supplements out there won't do jack for you and they 100% won't do anything for you if you don't put in the work at the gym. Eat clean, be active and use the money you save to buy something nice.

And sure as heck don't get involved in the marketing side of it, complete waste of your time and energy and you are not going to get rich.

And sure as heck don't get involved in the marketing side of it, complete waste of your time and energy and you are not going to get rich. Let me qualify my comments with this... I don't think there are supplements that you can benefit from. I think someone can benefit from using a whey protein powder as a post workout supplement or a casein protein powder before bed. You can also use them as meal replacements in a pinch (although I don't recommend doing it as part of your regular diet). I think there is enough testing and information out there to show that taking creatine can have a positive effect on your training. I also believe taking a caffeine supplement as a prework supplement can also help to improve your performance in the gym. It can be as simple as taking caffeine pills, you don't have to buy some fancy prework out supplement. Also, I don't think Advocare, or Zija's products are junk. They probably offer some good quality products. What I am saying is they are extremely over priced. They don't have some magic ingredient in them to make them superior. To be honest the ingredients they use probably come from the same companies most other supplement companies use. Their success has come in the multi level marketing game. Now Advocare has hit a big home run by getting Rich Froning to endorse them.
