Fact of the matter is, it will take Lemaster 2-3 years to bring the program back to contention. If the supporters expect him to contend year 1 they are setting him up for failure. He will be pitching starved this year and will have to depend on kids being crafty and good defense to get through. The need to develop arms is huge.

 

 

Lemaster has stated that he's going to build his program from the Little League programs up, and that is certainly what he needs to do. I just hope those in charge of the 2 Little League programs are willing to work with Coach Lemaster, and help him get the program to where he wants to take it. From what little bit I've seen and read the past 2-3 years, the Little League programs are a mess, and are nowhere near the strong programs they've been in the past. I know they have an excellent coach in John Vincent in place at the middle school level, and that is certainly a bonus.

I don't see how anyone can blame the school for hiring Coach Lemaster, he was interested, he has a great resume, and I'm sure had a good interview. Its not like they are going to go around Paintsville and ask people what they think of him or his family before making the decision. I don't think it is going to be easy for him, for a lot of reasons, but I think everyone should give him a chance. One thing I guarantee he will do is bring some much needed excitement back to the Ashland area when it comes to baseball.

I hadn't heard that, but you very well could be right. I hate to hear that if it's true. The kids definitely would have developed under him.

I don't blame that at all. I have made known my reasons for why I would have liked them to have given Dwight Walter a chance, but even Dwight admits that he couldn't compete with Lemaster's resume.

Some in this thread act like they are close to the situation. Maybe not close to the program but either way there are some childish posts by those "in the know" that are doing nothing to help the program.

I forgot you know all. But what I do know is that while reading your posts, I'm embarrassed for the program. You have said absolutely nothing positive for the program. You obviously have an agenda as much as you like to deny it.
