From what I hear his grandson is either a freshman or sophomore to be, so I'd guess at least 3-4 years.

Two region titles in last five years and four final appearances not sure the level can get much higher.

Very good players for four years. Two D1 arms for a couple. As a good devils advocate, maybe a different bus driver could have been 4 for 4 with a couple State Finals appearances or maybe even a ring. Its like the guy on his deathbed that says I have smoked everyday of my life and lived to be 90. When in reality if he hadn't smoked everyday he probably would have lived longer.

Home run hire indeed. @LRCW any word whether Dwight will still be a part of the program? I lived across the street from him and his parents as a kid, he's a great guy and a Tomcat all the way. Hate it for him that he didn't get what at the time was probably his dream job, but as we all know, the best resume wins 99% of the time. I could imagine Dwight getting the job in years to come.

No, as far as I know Dwight plans on spending more time with his wife and 2 girls.

Is Johnnie Lemaster related to LB Lemaster?

Thought it was interesting that his son-in-law Craig was not mentioned in the newspaper article, figured he would be helping him. I've heard back and forth on it, anyone know for sure if he'll be joining Johnnie?

I posted a rather lengthy explanation of the whole coaching/assistant coaching scenario yesterday as it involved the son in law...Don't know why it has not shown up.

No axe to grind at all. However there are reasons why he and his son in law ended up in Ashland. Many Ashland faithful will be perplexed later on as to why the Paul Blazer administration did not do more homework on this hire.

Actually I know a lot about Dwight, as I mentioned before I grew up across the street from him. I wish he would stay with the team because I feel like the job would eventually be his to take, the man bleeds maroon. But like I said before, 99% of the time the best resume wins.

 

Unfortunately for Dwight, Lemaster has an excellent resume and has been successful at every level of baseball. The cards just didn't fall in Dwights favor this particular time. There is no doubt in my mind that he will make someone a great coach, hopefully Ashland once Lemaster retires.

 

Most people that have ever applied for a job have been turned down at least once in their life if its a good job. You just gotta stick with it and keep applying if its really what you want, eventually you'll get the job. I do wish Dwight would remain part of the program,but I understand that his kids come first.
