Songs that remind you of Summer's long past

Featured Replies

Released in the summer of 1985 when I was a 19 yr. old lad, for me it has always been Y&T "Summertime Girls". Led by Dave Meniketti, icon for guitar players worldwide for over four decades, this song was the bands highest ranked song hitting #55 . I got to see these guys twice in the 80's.

The 1985 original video......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GCy354GTbE#t=48

This updated video might be more pleasing to the eyes :whistling:....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qViVWfb7QuI

OH, to be 19 again........

This came out in 1988...was part of the soundtrack to the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail. (I liked the song, and it didn't hurt that the movie had Elizabeth Shue in it, who I had a crush on at the time.)

Eddie Grant "Electric Avenue" 5 of us rented a house in Myrtle Beach in college. Goods times!

My first job was as a lifeguard, summer of 1972. First one that pops into my head is Brandy.

I have the 7-inch 45rpm vinyl single for that tune, which I confess I did like, although I can't much recall it now.

My guess it would have been 'Amazing Grace'. It come out in 1779.

Wild Thing - The Troggs

Summertime Blues - The Who

Grease - Frankie Valli

Next time that song from Grease comes on in the car I'm either jumping out the door (moving car or not) or run straight into a bridge. The whole family sings it LOUDLY thanks to Mrs. Bandit.

As probably only Clyde already knows, that is one of my Top 10 favorite songs of all time.

Great song!

There are so many (since I have put a lot of summers behind me), but some that come to mind:

Help Me Rhonda

This Diamond Ring

Spooky

I think "Don't Worry, Be Happy" came out around the same time?

Until now.
